This is to respond to a review submitted to Google on 07/10/2018. We received an application for a purchase of an investment real estate property. We never offered services for real estate, as we are not Real Estate agents. We ordered the appraisal as soon as we received the payment. The customer requested a closing date of 6/22/18. The initial Appraiser that was scheduled to make the inspection canceled, because of illness. We then had to engage another Appraiser. We also waived the customer's Underwriting fee. The customer also wanted to get a Closing Disclosure sent out prior to the Appraisal report being delivered to us. The customer kept calling and emailing demanding we get the Appraisal done. I kept informing the customer, we have no control over the Appraiser, and all we could do was to communicate the request through the Appraisal Management company. He also requested a copy of the appraisal invoice, which was not submitted until a week before the closing. The Appraisal fee he paid for (which was the only Appraisal fee charged) was listed on the Final Closing Disclosure. The customer then proceeded to call the Bank we submit our loans to and wanted to speak to the Customer Relations Department. The Customer Relations Department contacted me, and we had a staff of employees process and get his loan ready to close. When we got to the closing day, the customer wanted to change the loan amount, because he said there was some tax issue on the amount of money he received back at closing. We then changed his loan amount to where his cash back was -0-. This customer has since the loan closed, has repeatedly (over 15 times) called my cell number in the early hours of the morning (between 12am-1:30am), and sent disparaging text comments and voice mails. I have since had to block his number.

When I initially contacted this broker, he offered a very competitive rate. He also was questioning why I was purchasing in another part of the state and wanted to offer his services as a real estate agent to acquire a property in his local area. I wasn't interested. Ended up going with him. Told him I wanted appraisal ordered right away. I paid for it end of May 2018, it may have been ordered but he gave the appraiser a due date of 6/20 when we were supposed to close 6/22. He said this was fine since the CD could be sent before the appraisal came back. Later on he said it couldn't so he flat out lied to me. I had to email him over and over again to push for getting the appraisal back, and his responses were usually "Stand by" or "Working on it", never any details: needless to say the appraisal did not get completed on time. I was doing a 1031 exchange and cannot receive money back at closing; yet he set up the loan for me to get $7,000 back at closing which I would have been taxed on. Originally charged my cc for the appraisal but the lender said they knew nothing of it and they were charging me another appraisal fee at closing. I had to prove to the lender that I had paid his firm for the appraisal. Closed over a week late. Would never use again, I do not trust him and had to fight every step of the way. Not a good experience, at all. BTW - who are all the "associates"? It's just Calvin! That's it! One man trying to make it and I respect that but when you lie to people and try to double dip to make extra $ that's not cool. And he will try and defend himself to the end - but the truth is he wasn't forthright about the rate lock, he tried to charge me twice on the appraisal, and in the end I had a group email going between myself, him, the escrow company, and the exchange company and we were all waiting for him to recalculate the numbers so that we could close and he simply couldn't do it! Incompetent. I had to go straight to the lender to get everything worked out. After I went direct to them everything was resolved within a few days. They even told me "we will be re-evaluating our relationship with this broker." My advice: Go straight to a big lender instead of dealing with these small timers.
