Dear Max, your feedback is very important to us and we appreciate your review. We understand you were not happy with your recent special order oven purchase. To be clear, you gave us the specific model number and the specs (we have written records to this affect) and we placed an order accordingly, so we did not commit the error as you claim. After delivery, you realized you made a mistake and needed instead of a 30 oven, a 27 unit, as that is all the space you had. Since this was a special order, on the printed statement, it states clearly No Cancellation. This is industry standard: When placing Special Orders, don't make mistakes, as you cannot return the product. However as a courtesy to you, on your behalf, we contacted the manufacturer and successfully negotiated for you a "return exception" with a modest restocking fee of $150.00. This was without any markup of said restocking fee. Our time for this effort was effectively free and we offered the direct restocking cost to you. You have this option now to replace the oven. Honestly very few retailers would have done this for you, but Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center prides itself on its superior world-class customer care.

Please dont shop here. Even though when they order wrong sized items for you, they will charge you up to 50% of the value of the appliances when you have to change your items with correct size one. Please dont get burned as I did.
The short review is that both the sales staff (Shahan) and installation crews/techs (4 so far!) we have dealt with are incompetent, lack knowledge of the products they sell, or service, and are indifferent to customers. This has been the singular worst experience we've had with any high-end retailer. 3.5 months, $15,000, countless calls, texts, emails and scheduled installs later - we still do not have a completed kitchen of appliances. We have recently moved from out of state, purchased a house in which we completely gutted and remodeled the kitchen. We knew exactly which appliances we wanted (GE Monogram), based on friends and family members' experiences and feedback on the internet. We searched for the nearest authorized dealer and GE Monogram website came up with Universa as the nearest dealer. We ordered the appliances, which was a bit tedious, but not awful. Everything that's happened since has been a massive headache. Damaged products, missing parts, improper installation, 4 installation attempts and it's still not complete. We ordered the appliances on May 12th, paid over $15,000 and still do not have correctly installed appliances.

This is a Great source For Appliance related products. Along with the appliances themselves. I have purchased several exhaust Hoods from them over a period of eight years. They have always been very responsive to our needs. "MD" is particularly helpful. The Manager, Tim is very concerned with customer satisfaction!.
Dear Patrick, we are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed. The simple fact was that the turnout to the event was overwhelming, and as such by the time you got there, at the end of the day, we were pretty much depleted. Most of the crowds to these events tend to come early and are gone by mid-afternoon. Its rare for folks to show up an hour before closing. We are not operating as a restaurant, but a retailer of fine kitchen appliances, and although we do still have some drinks and food, late in the day, we tend to be wrapping up by then. We have never had this complaint before, so we will adjust our refreshment and food supplies accordingly. If you come to one of our events, as it says in the invite, its best to come earlier rather than later if you want to specifically experience the cooking and libations which were plentiful earlier in the day. Again our apologies.

We showed up during their special one day super sale on June 1 after receiving a "private invitation" -- a nice glossy multi-fold flyer in the mail. The flyer promised incredible deals, gourmet food, libations, etc. Sounded fun. Showed up at 4:45PM and none of what was in the flyer was to be found: apparently the party was long over even though the flyer said it was on until 6PM. When we were finally approached (tall gentleman with glasses) and we inquired about the festivities he looked confused and said food was spread throughout the store (it wasn't.) Again, not that we were there for the party, but it certainly was a draw for us to attend and then see the deals. I could go on about this salesman's inattentiveness, but not worth it.
