We were extremely excited to try it since a lot of people we know were raving about it. The food was amazing, but the service was HORRIBLE. If not for the food we would have probably walked out. Our server ALANA rushed us from the water to check. Her first Sentence was "we take one order so we can COURSE it out for you". After she got our water and took our drink order, she returned right away to take our food order but we weren't ready since we just sat down. We asked for some time so we could look at the menu, she returned every few minutes for fifteen minutes, very annoying since we were still reading the menu. Our food began to arrive and Since we were informed that this meal was going to coursed out, imagine our surprise when we used "SAME PLATE ,SAME SILVERWARE" from 3 appetizers to 3 entrees and all the while ALANA gave us zero attention, but was quite chummy with all of her other customers. One of our entrees was the Lamb, and it was amazing, but the dish was served without any steak knives and our server never came by, we ate it with butter knives. If not for the lamb being so tender we may have just sat there for 20 minutes looking at our food. After the very tasty meal we decided on some desserts, but got the check. Dropping off the the check right when desserts arrive? Am I at Cracker Barrell? At this point, we're not too surprised so we paid. What surprised us was that she was back in 2 minutes with our paid tabs, to add insult to injury she hovered over us until we signed the check. Easily one of the most rude actions a server can take.
I hope this place closes. They are demanding the customer pays for their staffs health care. Why not pay your staff a living wage this place should close it will be for the best.
I have been following Chef Funke for years. So to finally have an opportunity to dine at Felix was one I wasn't passing up. The food, service and atmosphere were all top shelf. My son and I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Chef Funke for several minutes before the restaurant really started hopping. Yes, the food is an expensive treat, but as a pasta fan, it was simply the best pasta I have eaten. The texture of the house made pasta perfectly melded with the proper sauce were excellent. As for all the negative reviews about the 3% added for healthcare.. guess what.. EVERY business you purchase goods and services from that offers benefits to employees CHARGES customers for it including yours. Felix is simply open about it!! As are many other restaurants in Los Angeles! Grow up!!
Average food for high prices, we received our pasta before the bottle of wine showed up, the 250$ steak was under seasoned but the wine was great, 2 stars for having a great wine list. Overpriced and disorganized.
