Hello Bee. I'm sorry to see your negative review. As we discussed, most of the work that goes into my profession is research and reviewing documents to fully understand the case so that I can give you accurate information and formulate a successful legal strategy. When you came to us May 11, 2021 with your urgent matter and brought a stack of 20-30 pages that you wanted me to review and understand in order to help you resolve the matter, I explained, based on drafting hundreds of demands in cases like these, that they usually cost between $800 and $1,200, regardless of whether we send them by email or by certified letter. That's why we required a $1,000 retainer. I recommended we send the demand by email because of the timeline. Since you were in a hurry, I rearranged other client matters so I could fast-track yours and dove into a careful review of the documents, which I needed to understand to make a legally defensible demand. I sent the demand on May 18, 2021, ten days before the deadline you gave me. We received all of the responses agreeing to our demand on May 24, 2021, the day before I was set to argue a trial for a different client. Im told that you then called my office angry and shouting at my receptionist on May 25 and May 26 that you needed to talk to me, so we set an appointment and then talked on the phone May 27, which is when I told you that I prefer not to work with clients that treat me or my staff that way. That was when I also described to you the documents that I would prepare using the rest of your retainer to administer your family trust. I'm glad you were able to find those documents online and hope you received legal help to draft them and use them properly. In any case, I sent the bill including a discount of $250, from $750 to $500, as a show of good will. When you then threatened: "if you would like to review your bill and send me one that is slightly more reflective of the services you rendered is this you rendered [sic] I may consider taking down the Google review and will save myself the trouble of speaking with the Better Business Bureau," I explained that I only wanted to arrive at a fair price and asked what you thought that was. You then said you would accept my bill, but still left this review. We do our best to help clients by providing careful and thoughtful legal service, so it's hard to see when a client posts a review like this to try to damage our livelihood despite getting the outcome they desired.

Mcarty did not seem to have time for us. He sent an informal unofficial email to my 3 family members telling them who he was letting them know i wanted to take over as trustee for the family trust. Because we had all discussed it prior to hiring Mcarty, they responded in agreement immediately. When Mr. MCarty explained that he could not send the documents we needed within our time constraints we explained we would simple proceed on our own, which we did, he then sent a bill claiming his email took him $750 dollars of my $1000 retainer to " research and compose" this email. It felt like a stretch considering we didn't need, or use his services to resolve the issue or draw up the (free online) documents after all.
