While I am sure this place does the job for some people, that was not the case for me. The standard practice for contact lens fitting was not followed in my opinion. The normal practice is for a patient to try multiple contacts over a period of time along with some further testing of the patient's vision at the office to make sure the correct lens were selected for a patient. My experience shows that to not be the case, but rather , a one size fits all. To be fair, the first contacts I selected during the initial office visit was tested along with my eye glasses test. After wearing the contacts, there were some vision issues and I was charged fee again for returning to the office to try on a new pair and no testing was done with that one. I finally give up since I did not want to be charged for the third time for another trial. I am sure this place works out for some folks but it did not work out for me. I now have to wait for next year to go get tested again at a different place for contacts, since I already paid out of pocket costs along with insurance benefits with nothing to show for it. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. Hopefully, my experience was a one off. By no means is this review meant to discourage one from going there since it appears some people had a good experience there but rather some things to keep in mind and hopefully the place of business can use this to improve their process.
I was told to come in early (I had to leave work early now) because I am a new patient. I gave them my insurance information, it was confirmed and I made plans for my appointment. The following business day I received a call telling me to come in early as a new patient (We've had this conversation already). I get a call 10 minutes before my appointment time asking if I am going to make my appt. (yes). When I arrive, they tell me that they can't verify my insurance information and the people who verify it are "too busy" at the moment, and I will have to pay for my appointment and try to get re-imbursed. (??) So - I have left work early, they didn't verify insurance properly, and now I have to pay out of pocket because (their words) they are too busy. I walked out, and will NEVER be back. This was a remarkably unprofessional office, and I feel that I dodged a bullet in having them touch my eyes. AWFUL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Im very pleased with the service I received. The staff is friendly, efficient and very professional. I will be back when I need another exam. Highly recommend them!
I informed Dr. Nwachukwu that I needed her to complete a form after receiving eye exam so that I could receive reimbursement from work. Completing her portion of the form would take no more than 2 minutes. She said she was to busy to complete the form and would have to complete it later and send to me. I explained to her that my work requires completion of the form at time of service or I would not be reimbursed. She said she was too busy to do it, so I walked out without receiving treatment. The doctor's two minutes of time was more important than treating me and possibly obtaining a new client. Also, she lost out on almost $100 for payment..such poor customer service. I would strongly recommend avoiding this practice. I hate to say that as I know how important these reviews are to businesses, but I feel I would be doing a disservice to anyone reading recommendations/reviews if I didn't express my opinion and experience.
