I was excited to be going to a show at the Kennedy Center but once there the theater ushers were VERY rude and not helpful. While it was not at the main venue i was not pleased with the staff. For this venue i would expect better.
If only no stars were a choice, thats what I would give! Upon entering the beautiful Main Hall of the Kennedy Center, you are greeted by someone literally yelling out loud to have your photo identification and vaccine papers ready. Next you are herded through checkpoints and given a paper wristband to wear. Welcome to the gorgeous, classic Kennedy Center! Then, as what was advertised as Rogerss & Hammersteins Oklahoma begins, you are transported back to high school and sit spellbound as this lovely, timeless musical is shredded to bits by classless actors, horrid musical arrangements and some girl gyrating all over the stage! And interestingly, while they force everyone to wear a mask, in the interest of safety; the kissing scenes, which were disgusting, are ok with them??!? Seriously? The hypocrisy is palatable. Kennedy is dishonored and Im sure Shirley Jones is turning over in her grave! Im shocked that touting this disaster and dark show as Rogerss & Hammersteins creation is even legal!
The roof is open to the public and has some excellent views of the city. On the other hand, the garage has one of the worst bike racks I've seen. Absolute joke given the size of the garage. The fact that the Kennedy Center advertises public bike parking in the garage is truly embarrassing.
