Mr. Taylor, I am responding to your comments here, as this is the only means through which we can communicate. While we asked for an email address to send you tracking information, you did not wish to provide it. We do have a phone number, but engaging in a conversation does not appear to be an avenue you are interested in pursuing, given that you contacted my gallery and rather than asking to speak with someone about a situation where you felt there was a problem, you started by hurling a string of profanities at the individual who answered the phone. You did that twice. Then you posted a profanity ridden post on the artists website (who took the post down, not because of the message, but because of the inappropriate language). So, I am happy to discuss this with you here. You came into our gallery and saw an artist that you collect. You chose to purchase 5 pieces of artwork, one of which was already hanging on the wall framed. You requested that the other four be framed in a similar fashion. You then stayed for approximately 30 minutes and picked out the frames you wanted. You indicated that you wanted white mats and we said you could stay and pick out the mats for each one that best matched the paper in the art or we could do that for you. You chose for us to take the time to pick the best white mat that matched the paper. While you were in our store, you were given all the pricing for the frames (which were, $218.45, $231.97, $291.48 and $385.96 for the largest piece). The three on paper were framed to have the artwork float on top of the mat, so if you look at it, you will see that the art does indeed have a mat border behind the artwork. The UV plexiglass is spaced up so it does not touch the artwork using frame space. These are done exactly as we did the piece you purchased already framed that was hanging on our wall. I am not certain why you think there is no border around the art, other than the mat board is the same color as the paper, like the piece you bought and wanted to replicate. As for the piece on canvas, you requested we treat that like the ones on paper in that it have a mat and plexiglass on top of it. That one is not floated, but has a mat border around it. We did not throw them in a frame with no backer, no border.

if i could give less than 1 star i would. this lady and her daughter are true dirt bags. first off the daughter tells me she will frame my items up very nice like what was hanging in the gallery. when i receive them they are just thrown in a frame with no backer no boarder. this is what i paid 500 per print to frame? then the old lady on my second trip by toys to screw me for 1000 on a print that was priced at only 350. then try to sell me into the worst frame in the store for 450. this place is a true rip off.
Ms. Wang My name is Elisa and I am one of the owners at Peabody fine art and framing. First allow me to offer my sincerest apology that your experience at our gallery was not as you had hoped it would be. I was in the gallery when you were but was helping another client. It appeared that you brought in a limited edition Takashi Murakami. We have framed several of his pieces for various clients and are very familiar with his medium, the weight of the paper these are printed on and how to handle them. The gentleman who was working with you is indeed a seasoned professional and highly skilled in handling artwork. He has been with us for over 15 years and even owned his own shop. He is also an artist himself and respects and cares about the works of others. Where we failed in our exchange with you is exhibiting both in actions and words that expertise and knowledge and care. Because, for a new client, how else would they know. What is a normal course is business for us may not be seen or recognized by a new client. For instance, we always wash our hands before we come out to handle any artwork. But because that is done in the back room, you do not see that. We dont touch a tape measure to the artwork (except the sides of a stretched canvas ). We measure to the side or over without touching. We do need to get close to the artwork to do that, and I can see that being worrisome to some. We should have taken the extra time to explain some of these processes to you if we sensed any level of hesitation on your part (which you indicate you actually verbalized) and we did not. That was our failure. Please rest assured that your artwork was never in a position to be harmed. We do know how to handle, store and frame all varieties of artwork for the purposes of preserving the value of the piece, whether financial or sentimental. When you purchase a piece of artwork and are excited about it, your entire experience from the purchase, to its receipt, to the framing, to the years of enjoyment of it hanging on your wall should be a positive one. I truly hope that the framer and design you finally choose will yield a wonderful result that will brighten your home for many years.

We decided to go to this place to frame an artwork after reading all the positive reviews here. But our experience was very disappointing and we decided to go to a different framing place instead. We purchased the artwork from a gallery in Switzerland, its a really valuable piece, and we were excited to get it framed. The staff was friendly and helped us unpack the packaging, but he DIDNT seem to know how to handle artwork professionally. He didnt wear gloves when touching the artwork, he put a mat on top of the center of the artwork, we asked him multiple times to stop making physical contact with the piece, but he didnt seem to understand/care and continually made close contact with his hands and tape measure while insisting us not to worry. We felt extremely uncomfortable to leave a special piece with someone who cant handle it respectfully/professionally. Would NOT recommend this place for framing art.
Laura, I'm glad you are happy with your piece. Someone else picked up, so I didn't get to see your reaction to the finished product. Also, thank you for the photo of the piece hanging in your home. I love seeing the spaces where these land.
