Again, we are sorry for your experience and are still trying to remedy the situation. Steven educated you on what may happen during the procedure considering the box color that was used. I understand that the hair should have been checked more frequently, something that we are keeping in mind. All we asked is that you come in and let us take a look at your hair so that we can diagnose whether we need to work with you on the refund. This is not wrong to ask, especially when we are trying to educate Steven on how and why this happened so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. We care very much about this and are trying to do what is fair for everyone. Taking the time to come up with a professional solution is a priority and not something we take lightly. Nor is it easy to come up with a proper solution quickly. We did ask if it was OK to call later today or early tomorrow so that we may discuss how to move forward. We absolutely love and respect our clientele but we also have to trust and stand behind our stylists. We will be happy to have you come in to the salon for a refund after a proper look at the problem area so that we can all learn from the experience. Please let us know when you are available. Both you and your boyfriend were such a delight to have in the salon and really hate that all of this has happened.

I visited this salon about 5 days ago coming in for chestnut brown hair from Steven. I came out of the salon with yellow toned-ombré hair. Not to mention I have a chemical burn on my scalp from bleach and cannot get a brush through my hair with any ease whatsoever, these conjoined with the fact that it takes 4+ hours for my hair to completely air dry lead me to making this review. Never in my life have a ever written a bad review anywhere. I usually just go with it, but the pure negligence and rude attitudes of the employees have pushed that idea straight of the window... I made a call today inquiring about a refund, I even offered to pay for the products that were used on my hair and get (at least) half of my money back. Neither of these things were seen as possible but instead I got condescended to by Amy (one of the OWNERS of this salon) telling me thats just what happens when you apply bleach to box colored hair. I tried to stay calm and collected in the beginning of this phone call but soon realized I wouldnt get anywhere trying to level. After getting so frustrated and her telling me I dont understand why you are being rude with me this talk finally came to an end. I was not planning on making a review whatsoever to begin with thinking they would be okay with leveling. I do not ever wish to return to this salon after this experience. A lot of money and time wasted on all of this. My boyfriend has been a client here for a couple months and we both will no longer be coming back due to this traumatic experience. Im writing this more-so because I dont want this to happen to anyone else. Absolutely disappointed and upset.
It is a comfortable salon, not like the others you're afraid to speak loudly or touch anything. All the stylest have they own style and are amazing. Sarah Riker is mine and she always goes above and beyond of my request and I love the outcome more then what I asked her to do!
Sometimes you just lay in bed and admire how great your color looks. (Wish I could attach a picture) Thank you Sara Storm for always making sure my cut and color are fresh. I still am impressed with how well my color always turns out, I bring you some difficult requests and you nail it!
Hi Sean. Thank you for your honesty regarding your first experience in our salon. I understand your frustration and unhappiness with your cut today. Please understand that the stylist you initially sat down with is a Junior Stylist who is just out of cosmetology school and still learning. This information should have been relayed to you once youd sat in her chair and if it was not, we apologize. She was also the only stylist available for the time youd requested. Once I realized you were in distress, I grabbed James to come help. After you left, I went over procedures with our Junior stylist to let her know that her mentors need to be informed ASAP if a less than satisfactory situation is brewing with one of her clients and to include us in her consultations. I would like to offer your next cut to you for free, even though it may be a while from now as youre moving out of the country for the next year. I wish we could have made you feel more confident with your look during this very special month that we, too, celebrate alongside & intertwined with our LGBTQIA+ community. We do hope to see you again and appreciate you recommending James to the fabulous queens of Westport. We also have several other very talented stylists that you did not have the opportunity of meeting today and we know that our junior stylist will be on their level one day as she grows with us. ***QUEENS OF WESTPORT*** This place is getting one star because the only star here is Jameswho had to come to my rescue because the original mannequin hair cutter who was working on my hair did such an awe full job. I would only visit this salon for james. She didnt know how to blend, nor understand how to use thinning shears. Im so upset I cant even remember her name but I hope no one ever has the misfortune of learning it because she should never cut a gay mans hair during PRIDE MONTH! Sincerely, A disappointed twunk.
