The front desk at the clinic and intake are unprofessional (especially the chubby blond lady with the pinkish blue hair). They give off a rude attitude. They dont seem to care and they arent helpful. They seem to want to get people out of their hair and arent eager to provide help. They should probably get better training on how to act professionally. The wait at the vaccine clinic is also unreasonably long. About an hour just to get a vaccine. However the volunteers are helpful.

Pretty sad that our shelters are so crowded with animals that the SPCA won't even unlock their doors so people can walk in. I was sitting outside the front door for a couple hours today with a sick week old kitten that was left behind by it's mother just hours after being born. I must have seen 20 or 30 people walk up and pull on the locked door trying to get in , and they all seemed just as shocked as I was. They did how ever send 2 people out to retrieve a deceased canine from it's owners car, so I know they were open for sure.

Thank you, Sacramento SPCA, for doing so much with so little. It is noticed and very appreciated. We adopted our beloved Clara from this shelter nine years ago. We were incredibly blessed to have her in our lives; We thank Sacramento SPCA for taking a chance on tiny Clara by saving her from the streets. Clara was a quiet girl with an uncertain behavioral history but quickly found comfort and love in our house. She lived a happy, healthy, fun-filled life surrounded by people who loved her for nine wonderful years. We would not be the same without Clara in our lives; Thank you so much for your work and assistance to these homeless pets. Thank you for saving Clara so that we could take her home and assisting in her medical needs.

It should be understood that SPCA is typically volunteer work from certified vets/pet doctors, and people offering their time to help the animals in need. However, this doesn't mean everyone who works here, should. There are some people who have little to no professional service when handling clients and give abyssmal information when asked. Don't bother asking for any information for neutering/spaying, just go with your gut instinct or get a second opinion. I would still recommend going here for whatever help you're seeking to get. But if you have prior options (ie: other vets you've visited), especially one you're more confident in, then I would suggest attempting an appointment there first.
