Hi Scott, Unfortunately Baker's will not get credit from Craftsman unless we sell the exact same part number. I apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. Our goal is provide the best customer service possible. However if we can not get the credit we are not able to absorb the cost. After Sears has filed for bankruptcy Ace has changed its policy. It will now cover tools bought at Ace and a receipt is needed. If you have tools that you believed are covered by the lifetime warranty, Stanley has said numerous times that they will continue to cover them. They have not worked out the process yet for the retailers to do this, so your best bet is to work through the 800 number or like you did take it to a business that does have a more open policy. If you would like to reach out to me directly I would be happy to see how else we may be able to help you. [email protected]

Went in to exchange some craftsman tools for warranty and pick up a few Items. Employee from service desk came over immediately to "help" with tool exchange. Out of about 12 sockets and a ratchet I returned none. She claimed part #s must match exactly (have never seen this at any other store for craftsman returns including sears store) although the part #s did not match the tools were exact same item. Craftsman has obviously changed the part #s. She claimed they must match exactly. She clearly did not want to exchange the tools. I decided to buy my other Items at lowes and returned my craftsman tools in Toledo at Sears outlet with no issues. Sears store did not look at part #s and in fact the items they did not have in stock they offered a different item or having replacement mailed from Craftsman. I also decided to purchase approximately another $120 in craftsman tools while at Sears. After being a customer of Bakers since they opened I will no longer take my business there.(I spend approx. $3000-$5000 there a year) The items they carry are available other places with a short drive for a lower price. My support for this "local business" will go to big box stores or other local businesses.
There is one long-time employee that will make this experience unforgettable for most patrons. She is rude and condescending to customers without cause. I've stood in line at her "help desk" and observed her interaction with people. She has a grudge against the world!! How do the owners not see this? Meek, kind people walk away from her shaking their heads. It is infuriating to watch! The rest of the employees are great, however! Very helpful. They are the only reason I occasionally return.
Rented a furnace from them over the weekend and it did not work. Well I should clarify it ran for just a few hour and then turned off. Could not get furnace to fire back up. Had a 100 lb tank on it and when tank got back to shop weighed it and it only used 20 lbs. Call there rental department and they just acted like we got our money so sorry about your luck, but thanks for letting use know. I am very familiar with these furnaces and know how they work, so it wasn't lacking of knowledge.
