Wow....What has happened to this great resort property! I'll start by saying the place was very busy, so regardless I my experience clearly people will pay for just about anything....Just returned from taking my 95 year old mother for a birthday lunch...Food was fine, but service was really weak. Clearly the staff was way more interested in interacting with each other than the patrons. Clearly miles from the 5 star resort it once was. Upon entry myself a another vehicle in our group was stopped at the entrance...Sign said $20 parking...we said we were here for a birthday lunch and they said great enjoy...My son arrived about 15 minutes later and was told he had to pay the $20 to park? When I questioned the desk about this apparently discriminatory policy, I was told by a very smug manager that the $20 fee was their policy and since we were already on property he would do us a favor and not charge us....To add insult to injury Mister clueless customer service told me that he had to pay $50 to park at the Breaker's.....As if that has anything to do with the entire conversation, but clearly implying their $20 must surely be a bargain. Not sure where he received his hospitality training, but his parents should ask for a refund, and he should re think his career path, just as I will rethink returning to the Sagamore any time soon

If I had guests over, I cant think of a scenario in which Id allow construction workers to renovate any of my rooms prior to noon. These people decided to allow it at 9:30 AM (90 minutes before they stop serving breakfast). I arrived past midnight, paid the full rate, finally got to bed and, just 4.5 hours later, I woke up to what I thought was a natural disaster. Nope; just a bunch of construction workers beating their hammers, playing with their power tools and doing whatever in the world causes walls to vibrate. All over something that couldve waited, at the very least, until breakfast time was over.

Vastly different experience than the rest of the family that checked into this place for the 4th of July weekend. My wife and I were initially judged by a valet employee at check in. He asked if we has RSVP to dining that evening which we answered no and that we were checking into our room. He replied back with an "ohhh," while having a facial expression of disbelief while looking my wife and I over. I guess my wife and I changing into comfortable clothes, after getting done seeing patients for the day, was the wrong choice for checking into this establishment. Afterwards, the bellman lost our luggage. They found it later that evening after we called them inquiring about what happened to it. We were advised that they attempted to deliver it to an incorrect room. Thankfully, those guests refused the luggage. When it was delivered the bellman was somewhat apologetic. We technically had a partial ocean view. Room # 429. Room was on the lowest level as well as for the furthest away for a partial ocean view. Rooftops obstructed much of a possible ocean view. However, we had a great view of the dumpsters below us as well the AC units to the right of us. The scent of July 4th weekend trash was magnificent while lounging on our balcony. Our toilet handle at times would screech when trying to flush the toilet, we didn't have a soap dish for the bathroom, and only had 1 robe. We weren't aware of the difference in service as well as rooms we experienced compared to others until the other two couples we were vacationing with checked in the following day. Unsure why the difference tho. Overall a nice location, however for what you pay for you should at least get service that doesn't make you feel unwanted and a halfway decent room.
