Very poor customer service. We were looking to do an addition/remodel to our kitchen/dining room. Tom Missed our first scheduled appointment by an hour, because he had the wrong time, and went to the wrong house when he did show up. We had him out to our home, and he gave us some great ideas on what to do to save some cost, and took our blue prints and was going to make some changes to them. We were very excited to work with him. I called him 10 days after our first appointment, and we made an appointment to meet in a few days. The day of the scheduled appointment, he calls me to say that he now has 10 new builds and cannot commit to our project for at least 4-5 months, and thought he should call to let me know he should probably pass on our project. So he had 7 builds when we met the first time, and 3 new ones since we met, but because our project isn't a new build, and he can't make the money that he would make on a new build, we get moved to the bottom of the list. Very very poor way of doing business. So if you have a new build, he will find a way to squeeze you in, otherwise I would not recommend them to anyone!

Having had 33 surgeries and not using a handicap sticker because Im fortunate enough to be able to walk, it really irks me when I leave my office today and see a maroon SUV w james edwards builders written on it in a handicap spot with no stickers. That shows me enough.

We recently concluded our new home construction (first time building) with Tom and crew at JEB. The biggest standout, beyond the stellar quality of work done, was the integrity of the team. Tom, Jason, Brenda, and all the JEB folks really went above and beyond to not only earn our trust but also to time and again make sure that we were (and are) taken care of. We built while living in Chicago, and while communication was occasionally strained (due in no small part to distance and the COVID crisis), such was not insurmountable given the willingness of JEB to flex. I would certainly recommend building with JEB!

Do not use. He uses poor sub-contractors like the one who did the stone on the exterior of our house that is falling off which he refuses to fix. You will end up chasing him down to make things right. He will tell you what you want to hear and then never deliver. We have interior doors that don't latch and exterior doors that don't lock. Save yourself a ton of pain and find someone else to trust with your home.
