Despite reading and hearing rave reviews of the Dog Butlers, we were extremely disappointed. It seemed as though the staff took advantage of the fact that we are first time dog owners. Prior to Dog Butlers, we had taken our dog to several places to get him used to the grooming experience and he behaved perfectly fine there. However, here, the staff said they could not handle him to give him a haircut and only bathed him. They also did a poor job of cutting his nails - the nails were cut only a little or not at all. I ended up cutting them myself at home. Besides that, our dog spent 4 hours there! We had gone somewhere else for the same set of services and it took only 2 hours. The staff said they would give me a call after 3 hours and I didnt hear from them until I called myself. There was no reason this appointment had taken so long, especially if they werent going to give him a haircut anyways. Lastly, when we were checking out, they had the audacity to say we should keep coming back to spend $85 every three weeks for the bath service until our dog can handle a haircut. Theres no reason for us to pay that much for services we can do at home. We will definitely be going to other groomers in the area with whom weve already had good experiences.
I unfortunately was very disappointed with my puppys grooming experience here. I brought my puppy in and the lobby was filled with loose dogs. As someone with a brand new puppy who isnt comfortable yet with dogs, this started the experience off negatively. I was told it would be about 3-4 hours for her puppy groom and they took my puppy down to the basement, which also felt uncomfortable. I got a text after 45 minutes that she was done. When I arrived, the groomer told me that my puppy didnt like the experience so she just gave her a bath and blow dry but she was still damp and the hair that was blown was blown directly into her eyes so we were worse off than before. The main goal of the appointment was to have the puppy trim done, but the groomer did not do any of the cutting. I doubt any puppy enjoys their first groom but we expected the groomer to ignore my puppies dramatic antics, or at least text me and ask if I wanted to proceed or end the appointment after the bath. My puppy wasnt biting or anything she just wasnt happy. The groomer charged me $50 and then told me to repeat these appointments weekly. I will certainly not return. My puppy now has a UTI and I think it must be related to being left damp and not having her sanitary groom done.
We love BDB!! AJ is such a great trainer hes part of our family know and our boy loves him. This is the best place to leave your pup if you need to travel, they take care of them in their own houses and they always keep you updated with everything.

Took my Akita to A Street park today and he was excited to go to the dog park there. When he ran up to the gate we were approached by AJ who told us to leave and not come to gate "like that". He then threatened me and said "Don't make me come outside this gate" after I asked what we were doing wrong. He then told me he served jail time for murder. Seems like a very unprofessional and unreasonable person. Although the owner replied saying he didn't work the company, the card he handed me said he was the Owner/Operator at this address, he was also wearing a Boston Dog Butlers vest and other reviews for this company reference the name AJ.
