I went to Dave's because I saw all of the positive reviews online, and was extremely disappointed. A few weeks ago my PC wouldn't turn on so I took it to Dave's to diagnose the issue and repair. Originally they told me my PSU was shot, so I paid them to install a new PSU. They offered to install a new SSD in my PC which I accepted under the impression that the only problem with my PC was the PSU. I also asked them if they could transfer over my OS to the new SSD, which they told me wouldn't be a problem. After agreeing to this, they then tell me "whoops, the PSU wasn't the only issue, turns out the motherboard is shot too." I would have never agreed to purchasing the SSD or new PSU had I known that the motherboard was shot because that means I now need to replace more computer parts. So I take my computer back, buy a new motherboard, CPU, computer case and RAM, and build a new PC. When I plug in the new SSD I bought from them I noticed they didn't even transfer over the OS to the new SSD correctly! They literally just copy and pasted the files from my old SSD to the new one. The whole ordeal ended being a waste of $300 (not including me buying all new PC parts). Would have been much cheaper had they diagnosed the issue correctly the first time. I like to support small businesses, but dealing with them ended up being a waste of time and money.
I am an older woman, who lives alone. Although I am making progress with computers, I am not altogether comfortable with the ever-changing technology. I cannot express the relief I feel with Dave's Computers right down the street! They are so patient and understanding. They are top-notch technicians, charming and reliable. No more stress. Priceless!
Contacted Daves after not having luck at Geek Squad. My nas drive was failing and was unable to retrieve the data. After 3 days Dave was able to retrieve the database files I needed for work. Glad Dave was able to take care of this soon and did the work in-house ..
I needed to share this experience after a friend told me what happened. While I am not one to write reviews and kill small businesses, I wanted to share that after purchasing a new charger my friends computer is running just fine. A difference of $25 vs $300 charge for the repairs they stated my computer required in order to get it operating is quite shocking .Perhaps it was a faulty diagnosis on your end, however, my hope is simply that you conduct business in an ethical manner and hold your business to a higher standard in the future.
