I scheduled an eye exam through Zoc doc at the end of November. The appointment was fairly easy to make. The office was nice and I was impressed with the selection of frames. I had to get the office manager together because he was so adamant and aggressive about my lenses not being covered when I advised him for years they were always covered. I actually checked my eligibility before the office visit. Dr. Morris was okay but as a person who has worked in healthcare I noticed some things that were red flags. The doctor handled my lenses with her bare hands as in no gloves and I didn't see her wash them prior. Prior to seeing the doctor you will have a pre exam with a technician to check your vision, pressure in eyes, glaucoma etc. The room just has a curtain, no door so whoever is waiting in the hallway to be seen next , can hear these pre exam questions and your business. To make matters worse I had to wait 3 months to get my lenses because whoever submits the prior authorization did not have common sense to realize they were using the incorrect form. I had to call the insurance company several times and figured out the office was sending the incorrect form which is why they were receiving denials. The office never called to offer more trials lenses during the wait I had to get on their case about that. They finally gave me trial lenses until theyreceived approval after I emailed them the correct form. Then I had to wait after they received the approval for them to order the lenses. They finally called when the lenses arrived at the beginning of the week. I was advised they stay open late on Wednesday. I told them I would be in after 6 on Wednesday to pick up my lenses, traveled all the way there in the cold to see they had closed. They were to close at 7pm I was there at 6:45 waited until after 7 pm. I went in today , amidst cold weather and snow. When I questioned who was to be working late on Wednesday because I traveled in the cold weather to pick up my lenses and the office closed early, it was explained away as the doctor was the only one in office they were short staffed?, What happened to a phone call to the patient to let them know you are leaving early? The Caucasian staff member just shrugged it off and snickered saying I received year supply for the wait. Do not waste your time with this place. Normally I would never change doctors, unfortunately the optometrist I had office was destroyed in a fire last summer. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because the providers are women of color, I like to support my own. Due to this horrible experience I will never visit this location again. I am now reading reviews on other platforms, where patients have had horror stories even one stating they billed her insurance for lenses she didn't get. I will definitely be requesting an EOB to see what my insurance carrier was billed for. Everyone be aware! The doctors need new staff members. The new office manager Renee is not an improvement at all! The pandemic has made people lazy, they forget customer service and don't work for a paycheck. If they treated someone with mobility issues like this that says a lot about their character. We don't have any recent activity for you right now. About Stephanie E. Terrible. Do not go here. Bad service and they try to get as much money out of you as they can. Staff is rude. Edit: I never had insurance exam benefits so this response is inaccurate lol.
