I purchased a game console for 140.00 and over $200 on games /controllers. I tried to trade it in maybe 3 months later .. they tried to give me only (20) for the console and (50) for the games /controllers .. Very disappointed this shop is like any other PAWN shop. Or maybe its was my color

Thanks for your review, and I'm sorry you won't be returning! The sale of those items ended up being the turning point in a larger transaction that the store really needed for our growth for the store in the near future! We certainly did drop the ball in regards to communicating with you, and we apologize for that. Unfortunately we've been slammed trying to keep up with getting new inventory out, we neglected to give you a call and let you know! Even if we hadn't sold the items, the grading process takes roughly 6-8 weeks, and you wouldn't have heard from us for awhile, since you only came in the week before last. Sadly in this business, people express interest in a number of our products and then never make the move to purchase. The items you were interested in were sold to another video game store. After the first transaction with this place, finally thought we had found a great local place to find retro games. Staff was friendly, and we were informed that two games were about to be sent off to be graded that we have been looking for for a long time. Left name and number, asked to be informed as soon as they were for sale. Weeks go by. We assume that they must be back. Go in. They were sold to someone else without us knowing. Not even a phone call to let us know. Very disappointing to have these sold without a chance to get them after expressing plenty of interest. Ready to pay, they weren't ready to sell to us I guess. Thanks, good luck with the business. Too bad we won't be returning. My recommendation as someone who works in the business world:Work on the communication. Clearly you need to. Would rather travel to a great place in Florida to do business.

Retro Raven is the only video game store on the east coast, that I have been to, that presents so much care into the games and consoles they sell. My BIGGEST pet peeve at most game stores are stickers on the case. And then the effort it takes to clean them off which usually damages the outer sleeve. At Retro Raven this is NEVER an issue! Their systems are some of the cleanest I have ever come across. Their game cartridges have all been cleaned and you can definitely tell. This is very important for cartridges to play correctly. And every loose cd/cart comes cased in high quality cases. They also have a great mix of games and accessories. From original accessories to newer wireless controllers etc. I love this store and i hope to see it thrive for years to come.
