Got the transmission and torque converter as ordered but they sent the wrong torque converter. QC should've seen it didn't seat in the bell housing before they shipped it. My mechanic had my operational pickup apart before he spotted the wrong torque converter... it took 3 weeks to get a replacement with my truck down in the shop. Very hard to get ahold of. The times I did it was understood they were to overnight it. Well, they forgot to overnight the torque converter when they finally did get the correct one made up which put me another week out since my mechanic only could work on it on the weekends.
Jimmy, sorry for the broken shaft you experienced! We have a clearly written policy which is also clearly documented on your credit card authorization slip and our warranty that under no circumstance will any shaft damage be covered. As of 12/1/2020 we now require every customer to sign off on their credit card / build authorization form that they acknowledge that any type of shaft failure is not covered under warranty. This policy is not unique to RevMax, in fact, no other performance rebuilder in the country warranties broken shafts. Unlike others that would have charged you for a complete new unit, we only charged you a refresh fee and to replace the broken parts caused by the broken shaft. In regards to your claim that your friend looked at the shaft and stated that it looked like a heat treat issue. We have since sent your shaft out to a third party metallurgical engineering firm and have received those results. The shaft was in fact heat treated properly and the alloy used matches that of 4340M/300M steel. We would be happy to discuss this further if you would like to? Broken shafts are a very touchy subject for us and all rebuilders. It is a bad experience when this type of failure occurs. On a 68RFE, this issue only occurs when the tuning is causing a bind (especially present on non factory, early lockup tunes) or if excessive weight is being towed and line pressure is kept too high on the 3/4 shift (again causing a bind and shaft breakage). Hopefully the tuning issues have been resolved or unfortunately this same issues will occur again or it will break the OD intermediate shaft next.

Well I have mixed views on these guys. I had an $11000 series 700 transmission built with every upgrade you can get and the medium stall triple disc torque converter. It didn't last six months. It is my daily driver and I pull my camper. I drove it for roughly 6 months and then pulled my camper to North Carolina 1500 miles and the input shaft snapped. When the input shaft was shown to a drag racing team my mechanic is part of they said the shaft wasn't hardend properly. Well guess what thats the only part they don't warranty so after another $5000 and 6 weeks. I finally got my trans back. I paid $11000 so I wouldn't be brake down on the side of the road. So to get my truck and camper towed and fixed i am out all together another $11500 and 6 weeks without my truck. Not to sure about Revmax.
There's a lot of buzz about the best parts and trannys, but I can tell you from experience it's all about who's got your back. Tom & Steve have been by my side for years. Their work ethic and the product -- unparalleled. I like that they are science-driven and make things work for me.

Every gear became neutral after about 6 months of use. Took almost 2 months to get the problem resolved. Impossible to get them on the phone. Impersonal customer service. What a huge letdown for the money spent.
