We have lived in Stewarts creek farm for over one year. After seeing a post on the Stewarts creek farm Facebook page from a new resident, that had a horrible experience, it made me speak up. Speaking to several neighbors that used Harney Homes, they had the same problems that we had. Harney over promises and under delivers. The construction manager Ron, is absolutely horrible and unprofessional. The new sales guy, Braden, is no better and Justin Harney is deplorable. I have issues from 10 months ago, that still has not been addressed. Thank you to our new neighbors for letting us know their experience. Theirs is worst than ours. I would never recommend Harney Homes to anyone. He should not be allowed to build anymore.
Harney homes continue to cut corners. The owner, doesnt respond to complaints. He is unethical, with many integrity issues. I have warranty issues they have not responded to. Cold air coming into my home because the door or framing is not right. HVAC system is not efficient per TMC. My thermostat can be set on 78 and the temp in my home is 65-68 degrees. Braden, is terrible as well. Constants lies. Over promising and under delivering. Braden knows the truth, he has said as much. Hes nothing more than a yes man. Money over integrity. But I shouldnt be surprised based on his past hiSTORY. I have spoken with former employees, customers and contractors, that say the same thing. The young lady that handles warranty issues, has elementary communication skills. but thats no surprise, the owner does as well. Harney Homes Murfreesboros Trashiest home builder Stay away from Harney homes. I regret ever doing business with them.
These home builders are top notch! We were impressed with their attention to detail in all aspects of our new home. Our sales agent John Young helped officiate our smooth transaction and was a pleasure to work with. We feel very blessed to have purchased our home from this builder. We highly recommend Harney Homes!
I was ready to commit to signing a contract with Harney, however I am glad that I did not follow through. Harney homes are very nice, probably a well built house. I will not dispute that. What drove me away was the outrageous costs that were being thrown at me for any upgrade I wanted. I understand that Harney is in business to make money, however really sticking it to the home buyer is truly where they get you. Example: I wanted a 220V outlet run to the back of the house for a future hot tub. They quoted me $1,600!!! That is crazy. That should be no more than $250-$275 upgrade. I wanted a double oven. That was a $3,300 upgrade. Again crazy, that should of been between $1,500 to $1,700. I wanted a small cabinet installed in the bathroom. Another $1,600 for one cabinet!!! You can buy one at Home Depot or Lowes for $100 - $150 and get it installed. I wanted a 10x10 concrete pad poured for future hot tub, that cost was $15. a square foot. That is closer to $8 a square foot job. $200 for an additional can light - should cost no more than $100. No matter what upgrades you want they will hose you. I couldn't believe the cost of the upgrades when I received the email from Harney homes. When I questioned the cost of the upgrades I was told that Mr. Harney stands behind his pricing and cost of upgrades. Not sure they truly consulted with Mr. Harney or if it was an additional attempt to extort more money out of me. At this point I told them that I lacked the confidence and trust in their business dealings. Harney lost my business because they tried to squeeze so much out of me that I finally came to my senses and walked away. I understand that they portray themselves as a quality builder, but what make the electricity flowing through power outlet different than anybody else's? is their power outlet really $1,400 better than anyone else's? What makes that $150 cabinet that is mounted over a toilet so much more special than anyone else? If you decide to build with Harney, you will probably get a nice home. I would encourage you to shop around and do any upgrades on your own. You will save thousands!
