Haferman installed a Kinetico water softening system in 2019. It has never worked well. Its extraordinarily loud, and water coming out of all of our faucets is still at 250 ppm (Very Hard) they want to charge us an additional $145 to come out and fix it. Paid $3k for this disaster, should have gone to Home Depot and bought a $600 off the shelf softener.

Start by saying Kinetico is a good brand and quality product. Haferman customer service an entirely different thing and was a huge let down. Sales person Dan completely disregarded my wishes to hold off on credit check until I made my decision on which company to work with. Had a phone call he assured me he wouldn't run it until I gave them green light. After shopping around their prices were high (especially on install) and I decided to go a different route. I was surprised to see a pull on my credit after having that conversation with Dan. After expressing I was upset about the credit pull he offered to slash the install price in half. In my opinion they should have offered their best price up front, but my call to him was to hold off on running credit, not negotiating a price. Completely missed on customer needs. Beware and ask for discount on install if you work with this company.

Haferman stands behind Kinetico products because they outperform all others. Part of the service we offer is to not simply sell a widget, but a piece of equipment that works for individual homes and businesses based off their water quality and water usage needs. This is where the in-home appointment comes in. You didn't speak to the owner, but your salesman who, albeit quite frank (because these guys are passionate about quality water), was saying we could source and sell you a competitors' unit as well because there is nothing proprietary about their technology. But it may not be the best solution for you for the long run. We're happy you found a fit that works for you and hope you enjoy your new water. Cheers.

I planned on this company coming into my home and giving me an estimate because they would not do it over the phone( which is fine ). I found another company that provided superior customer service (Dakota Water) and decided to go with them. I simply called Haferman to cancel my appointment thinking it would be a 30 second phone call. When the guy answered (I assume the owner) I simply told him that I needed to cancel our appointment. He said, oh, one of my competitors got to you huh! I responded with yes, I just need to cancel our appointment. I explained that another company provided super customer service/ knowledge and that I was going to go with them. He straight up said well, I can sell you a piece of junk for $1500 if thats what your looking for! (Why would you sell pieces of junk) He continued to explain that he had 15 options and its impossible to make a decision over phone, but still tried to make the sale over the phone with me. I feel that I got an awesome softener through Dakota for $1500 and would buy through them again. Unbelievable.
