On Sunday 2/6/22 I had the pleasure of taking the Adventure Outfitters inaugural dive boat charter on their new catamaran twin outdrive boat. Let me just say, there is no better dive boat instruction IN THE WORLD than the folks at Adventure Outfitters. Now that theyre chartering their own boat for dives, The boat Captain Steve Vanderplas was amazing. Hes an experienced Coast Guard veteran that brings those skills to the boat for the dives. He successfully navigated us to multiple wrecks where I obtained my PADI wreck dive certification. Alex Blevins, my instructor, is one of the best in the WORLD. Hes extremely experienced and knowledgeable as an instructor, caters to your individual level of experience, and safely but meticulously guides you through the instruction for the certification level youre looking for. His wife Jenny is also amazing. She scheduled and re-scheduled our trip (due to weather). She also taught my emergency first responder class for further certification as a rescue diver. Phenomenal instructor! Finally Anna Blevins is also amazing. She ran me through the PADI search and recovery, rescue diver, and O2 provider courses. You cannot get a better team of instructors than Adventure Outfitters. You MUST call them if you want dive training or to dive anywhere in the Tampa area!

Dear Ace. We are so sorry that you felt this way and had to reply in this manner. As we had mentioned by text and email, we would provide you with more information if you came into the store instead of back and forth by email. We tried to tell you several times that your gear was older and dry-rotted so, there would be a cost for additional parts and it would take some time. Also, after finding a crack in the bladder of your BCD, we did not charge you for the cost of the inspection, since you could no longer use it (even though we still did the work on it). We also provided you with a FREE compass for your console since your old one no longer worked because we had an extra one and knew that you were on a budget. We called you several times to keep you updated on the parts ordered, that we knew would take a while due to the availability. You mentioned that you got your tank hydrostatic tested and were appalled by the cost but when I explained to you that the hydro comes with a visual inspection and a fill, you told me that you understood. You also mentioned that you could have bought a new regulator for the cost of the servicing (includes three stage labors, specialty purge covers, dust caps, o-rings and first and second stage kits, as well as a hydro, vis and fill, total is $252.55 with tax and without tax: $240.61). A regulator shouldn't be a discount item in our opinion, but our most-competitively priced regulator at our shop (first and second stage only) is $324.95. Our prices are competitive to all the stores in the area. This is life support equipment and we hold safety to the highest industry standards. If anyone has any questions about our servicing and about our integrity, please reach out to us. We have countless reviews from customers who will account for our products, our servicing, our classes and our customer service. We service regulators for military, police/firemen and other dive professionals from other shops. In fact, we have an "all sales final" store policy and we honored a credit for an item that your purchased shortly after because you said that you already had one on the boat. Like we mentioned, very sorry that you had this experience and the credit that we offered you for your new regulator, based on your experience still stands if you are ever in the area. Take care, Adventure Outfitters Management.

I want to start this review by saying that it has taken me about a month to post this because it gives me anxiety to think about leaving a negative review. I never do, as I have worked in the service industry for 12 years and I know that things happen. HOWEVER, I care more about the people that could have the same experience I had than I do about the people that run this dishonest shop. I came to Adventure Outfitters to get my regulator plastic covers replaced, my BCD inspected, and my cylinder filled/inspected. Long story short, they never contacted me. After 3 weeks, I called them and received a text back saying they would send me information. They didnt. I called back a week later and they said it was ready for pick up. I was never given an estimate in any of our conversations on the phone or via text, including the first one. I had my husband pick up the gear that day and when he arrived, they told him it would be $250. Unfortunately, he paid it not knowing the details of what I had ordered. They didnt give him the cylinder back and he had to come back for it. When I asked why my cylinder and cover replacement cost so much ($60 cylinder, $30 service, $30 parts (BCD was unusable))they told me they did a bunch of things for free for me to justify the price. They told me my husband was lying about the cost and that he didnt spend more than $200. They charged him EXACTLY $250 for this. They then told me 2 more times that I was given an estimate which I know for a fact that I wasnt. Eventually, I was told that I would receive and email with details of the pricing and credit for a regulator. It is now 2 weeks later and that never happened. I contacted them again about it and it was ignored. I would have bought a new regulator for less than the price to fix my old one from Adventure Outfitters had I known it would cost more than $100. Anyway, this is the worst customer service I ever experienced and after talking to a few more dive shops in Tampa (who were appalled that I was charged so much and treated in this way) I will not be returning. I want future customers to know how they treat new customers and take advantage of them instead of being honest with them about pricing and expectations. In response to the response by AO: None of that is true. I was NOT contacted by Adventure Outfitters or told to come in, was never sent an email, nor was I given an estimate before additional work was done on my equipment. I wasnt even emailed or texted information about the credit toward a regulator that I was promised. And yes, Jenny told me via text that I would receive an email with more details. My husband was called a liar for claiming to have spent $250 by you and your staff but you are clearly lying here. I am a polite, understanding person and this was just so unprofessional in every way.
