First of all we would like to thank you for taking out your time to make a review on your trip with us. However, we would strongly disagree with much of what you have stated. During the Hajj period, all the reservations that are mentioned in the above review were not raised. Our staff and director (along with his family) were present throughout the stay, however, you failed to communicate your issues. We are shocked to know that your family felt so negatively towards us ,especially given that our Hajj 2018 trip was so successful, Alhamdullilah. In the review you have mentioned the conditions of the Makkah hotel that was provided for our Hajjis (Yajid Hotel.) This was your first trip to Saudi. However, you have compared it to all the hotels on Ibrahim Khalil road. This comment is puzzling as you had never experienced or been accommodated in any other hotel in Makkah before this Hajj. Yajid Hotel was selected for its distance. As you know, it was not far from the Haram itself and that was our aim. However, we also tried our utmost to make this hotel the best it could be. Our hotel provided all the necessities just as we mentioned in our seminar. Whats more, we went one step further by renovating all the rooms just to make it that much more comfortable. Nonetheless,it was a standard hotel. Your expectations may have been that of a 5* hotel. You also stated that we did not mention this hotel before you booked your package. Our standard accommodation was mentioned in the itinerary that you were given before you booked with us. We apologise that we werent able to satisfy your standards however, as all who went with us know, our economy package consists of standard accommodation. Your complaint about the food comes as a surprise to us. Most if not all our companions were very happy with the food provided in the standard hotel. In fact, some pilgrims who shifted to the 5* accommodation after Hajj mentioned how they preferred the standard hotels food over the buffets of the 5* hotel. Our cooks are one of the best in Makkah and Medina. This is precisely why we have remained with them for the past eight years. The chefs are pious men with competent cooking skills. Our food may not be of some peoples appetite, but it was clearly mentioned before you booked that South East Asian food is mainly served. In your review you mentioned the extension of your stay. If you may recall, you asked us to extend your stay by bringing back your departure days. However, due to some miscommunication, we prolonged your stay by extending your arrival date. We mentioned this change to you two weeks before you departed, however you did not communicate to us that it would clash with your appointments or your wifes job. We were only made aware of this on our way back to the U.K when your wife mentioned how happy she was with our services but was upset because she may have some problems with her job. Lastly, you have questioned our sincerity. We understand that not everyone can be satisfied, however your comments on our honesty sting profusely. The director along with his family slept where you slept, ate where you ate and performed hajj with you with every step you took. We worked extremely hard in order to make sure that everyone' needs were met first. All our efforts are put in our Hajj pilgrimage every year. As a family we understand how blessed we are to be able to provide services to Hajjis as well as being able to make a living from such a sacred journey. We as a family are very cautious with everything that is related with Hajj. Providing a service for Hajjis is no easy task but we take it upon ourselves as we enjoy the experiences every year. Your comments about our efforts are simply untrue. However once again, we apologies for not meeting your standards. Please contact us as we would like to communicate these issues with you in more depth. You were our customer on a sacred trip and we feel obliged to mend your harsh feelings towards us.

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and it is incumbent on every Muslim to undertake this pilgrimage once in their life if they can physically and financially afford it. The journey used to be extremely taxing in the past for people living in the distant lands. However, now one can reach Jedda and then to Mecca in just a few hours wherever in the world they live. I am gratified that I was able to perform the fard this year Shukr Al-Hamad-o-Lillah. I pray that my Hajj is accepted by Allah (swt) despite the shortcomings and imperfection. It was a rewarding experience and there are many beautiful memories I have come back with. However, this post is about the few negative experiences I had. I promised some of my hajj companions, who unsurprisingly became friends, that I would write about these experiences. I hope that the people who read my post will be able to avoid these wearying experiences, and the tour operators will think about improving their services. It was the 2 Week Economy Hajj Package offered by Qibla Travels. We were accommodated at Yajed Hotel in Mecca. This hotel is one of the dirtiest, if not the dirtiest, on Ibrahim Al Khalil Street. The tour operators dont show this hotel on their website! Interestingly, the people who had paid for the deluxe 5-star package mostly stayed in the same hotel with us and were moved to a better hotel only for the last couple of days. The second complaint is about the food. We were provided the same oily, liquidy chicken curry every day. Big chicken pieces hurriedly cooked in a pot too small for the amount of meet. Liberal use of red colour made it even more unappetising. The course invariably included a vegetable dish, dal, and a sweet dish, all cooked equally halfheartedly. Another gripe is that our stay in Saudi Arabia was extended for 5 days without our consent and we returned to London on 5th September instead of 31st August. The crush of humanity is immense during hajj days and every additional day of unplanned stay becomes exorbitantly difficult. I missed my hospital appointment and my wife went back to her school job on 6th September instead of 3rd September, entailing a meeting with the head and 3 days leave without pay. Obviously, I am not going to recommend Qibla Travels to anyone. I am sure they could have provided a better service if they had sincerely wanted to. I came across some other groups from England who were looked after much better. If I had done some research before booking I would have never chosen Qibla Travels for hajj. Tour operators are just tour operators, they want to make as much money as possible. Although Hajj operators put on a veneer of religiosity. During the last three days we were not provided food but were given some cash instead for buying our own. This gave us an opportunity to sample some of the Pakistani restaurants. The food at these restaurants was much better than what we had been provided and was quite inexpensive. I would therefore advise to opt for a Hajj/Umrah package that does not include food.
