This company provided a great salesman, a professional install crew and great maintenance. I am giving it one star because they chose to do business with Service Financial. I was in the middle of selling a house and was going to use those funds to pay for the job. I was told that the work could begin right away and it would be financed through Service Financial at 0 percent interest for 12 months. Service Financial functions as a collection agency and began applying interest immediately. The company was rude, put a late payment on my credit report and I ended up paying $304 in interest because they were so difficult to process a payment with without an exorbitant free. I have given Advantage a chance to address the issue and to date they have not done so.
I havent used this business but so far havent had a great encounter with them. You would think that when driving a company vehicle with the name plastered all over, that you wouldnt aggressively drive through town and gesture at other drivers who stop when traffic in front stops for a pedestrian crossing. Looks pretty bad for the companys in my opinion but what do I know.

Hands down, Advantage is the ONLY people I will call now! Had a furnance is two years ago and used a different company. When Advantage came out recently, they shared that I needed to do a cleaning of my furnance ((apparently never been done as there was that much build up).....HUMMM...how could that be when I had someone come out 2 yrs ago and they didn't say anything. In fact the bill was to "service and do a tune up"....Wow....Not only were they efficient, upfront...He was honest, ready to show me the work prior to doing it to ensure I was okay with what he is recommending. In today's market, we ALL need to be double checking business for honesty and fairness. Advantage checks ALL the boxes for this homeonwer! Thank you Advantage!
Our 19 year old furnace stopped working on a Sunday morning. Since we had a gas fireplace it wasn't quite an emergency. I sent a message through the website and within 10 minutes had a phone call setting up an appointment. The Tech was very helpful and explained what had failed and what could be done. We ultimately had our HVAC unit replaced, our ducts cleaned and we now have wonderful clean heated air flowing again!
We were loyal customers for four years. We bought our heat pump/AC from Advantage in 2018 and had annual service contracts. Then, last week, when our AC blower motor quit, we called Advantage. And they said, Oh we havent served Portland in years. (They did service our unit in June 2021, so that wasnt quite accurate.) And they recommended Morrison (who doesnt have an opening for two months.) So, Advantage dumped us without even saying good-bye. If we would have known that they were quitting serving our area, we would have found another service, and that would have been that. But we turned to them in time of trouble, not knowing that they'd taken us off their list. It came as an unpleasant shock. Soat their discretion, not our choicewe are no longer Advantage customers.
