Noel thank you for leaving such a spirited review. Per our conversation on the phone that day when I called, my exact words were yes I admittedly dont understand how the booking system allowed you to make a reservation when I already had a client in the spot where you booked. After reviewing the book I realized that there was no more availability for that day with either stylist. I heard the frustrations in your voice immediately and realized that nothing I offered was going to be sufficient for you because of timing. We book up very fast and think thats what you were missing when I said nothing was available until the following day at 6:45. We all know that sometimes technology can challenge us, however I also explained that I wouldnt be able to get you in do to the fact that I was going to have my hands full with a very tedious color correction that booked weeks before your appointment and was going to run into your appointment. You somehow missed stating that in your review. Nonetheless if you wanted to cancel you were more than welcome to that. We are very very fair at Stylebar and I could understand wanting to cancel if you werent able to get seen that day. If youd like to discuss this any further or if you are wanting a refund please dont hesitate to reach back out to me.

I expected more from a business that charged $70 for a men's hair cut. Customer service sucked, actual hair cut was good. First I booked my appt through their web app with Cornelius Payne. An hour before my appt I got a call from Cornelius stating that there was a mistake and that he was not available. He was not sure "how the app allowed me to book the appointment because he had it blocked." He could not schedule me in until a week after. I said that I saw several appointments with him on the app and why weren't they available? He said he did not know. He then suggested that I book with someone else such as Salim Michelle. When I asked him what time Salim was available, he said that the earliest was 6.45 pm the following day (the business closes at 7 pm). I mentioned that I saw several appointments that were open with Salim between 3 and 7 pm, just two hours earlier. He said they were booked. I asked how my appt was screwed up but others were able to book theirs. He offered NO explanation. I should have just abandoned my effort at this point, but I provided my CC info and they would have charged me for "cancelling". So I decided to take the appt at 6.45 pm the next day. When I arrived 5 minutes early, Salim said he will be done in 5 minutes with his current customer. I said fine. Then he comes back and says that it will be 5-10 minutes more because the customer is getting some sort of color treatment for a wedding. I puffed and said okay. It was about 7 or 7:05 when I was finally seated on the chair. Salim did an almost good job. I came home and found few uneven hairs that I had to cut myself. I suspect he was rushed, because he was furiously clipping away while also checking in on the customer with the color treatment. Not worth the $70 and tip. Not coming back to this place.

Hi Crystal, we sincerely apologize for this experience. I assure you if youd give us an opportunity to fix it we definitely will. Sometimes the line of communication between stylist and client can be blurred based off creativeness and artistry. Sounds like we dropped the ball on this one. I had my hair cut at StyleBar by Salim over the weekend. When he was finished I acted like I liked it because I didnt know what else to do. It was not at all what I asked for or was told I would receive. I have very long straight hair and I came in with photos asking for long layers and curtain bangs. I said that I would like my hair to have more body and he insisted that I had to cut it short, just past my shoulders, to achieve that. He promised curtain bands and lots of layers. Being the expert I trusted him and allowed him to cut off 8+ inches of my hair. Which I now massively regret. After washing and styling it myself I hate this haircut even more. I look like a middle schooler whose mom cut her hair and is trying to grow out her bangs. The layers are too long, choppy and blunt. The curtain bangs are not curtain bangs at all, just shorter pieces in the front. And when blow drying them today I noticed that they arent even cut evenly. Now my hair is so short I am afraid to go to another hair stylist to have them fix it. The salon advertises that they are a luxury hair salon but that was not my experience at all. I am extremely unhappy with my haircut, the shampoo was mediocre, stylists stations are messy and the salon itself has seen a lot of wear and tear. For the premium price that you pay to have your hair done in the city I expected a lot more.

Love Salim! I love my new haircut and color and really feel so much better. The vibe of the salon is great and everyone is really friendly. And the service was fast- I have a lot of hair and it has taken 5+ hours at other salons and Salim was able to to finish my hair in 3 hours! I've been getting my hair done for over a decade and have been blonde for 6 years so I'm really picky about who does my hair and I will definitely be coming back!

I was in desperate need of a haircut (thanks pandemic) and I was soooo anxious of having someone who would not assist me in getting a hairstyle that suited me. Anxieties gone! I was taken care of by the incredible Kanika, who helped me get face framing layers and gave me tips and tricks for styling on my own. I walked out confident and in love with my hair If you need a haircut to get you ready for reentering the office please ask for Kanika THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

Jennifer it's unfortunate that you had to take the time to post such slanderous accusations. However I understand that you felt like you were uninformed. I however witnessed the receptionist inform you that your stylist today was out because of his severely broken ankle. You seemed a little agitated in which we all noticed and I Cornelius the owner informed you that you were called and I left a voice mail. Now if you didn't receive that voice-mail, you may need to inform your cellphone carrier. I also informed you that I had an available stylist to accommodate you. You then said "not today". Your demeanor was how do I say a little hostile when I informed you of everything that had taken place with the call. If you'd like to have a conversation over the phone, about today we can do that and maybe come to a resolve. We are here to help you and if you're still in the market for a stylist, we can refer one to you. Have an awesome day and I look forward to hearing from you.

I am not prone to taking the time to leave reviews, but this was such an appalling experience it seemed appropriate to warn others about this business and its practices. I had an appointment that I had taken off work, driven there, paid for parking only to find out the stylist had decided not to work that day. The staff there were not apologetic and showed absolutely no remorse for the fact that I was not left a voicemail alerting me to the situation. It might have been understandable if this was a last minute emergency, however they were aware that the stylist would not be in since the morning and I had a late afternoon appointment. Staff here are completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I highly recommended using another salon. The owners response further demonstrates this. The stylist has been out for several weeks, the original appointment was made quite a few weeks ago and the long delay to get in was due to that injury. This was not a newly occurring event, Unfortunately they did not leave a message as they are apparently going to claim. In fact I had to inquire why I wasnt contacted when I came in so they are aware of this. No apology for the situation - something most professional places of business would have done immediately.
