Step 1 I shopped online for a few hours comparing prices for a 2019 Chevy Bolt LT. I knew what I wanted, I had cash in hand to buy it. Had the listing number for the one I found online. Was listed for $24,900. Step 2 I arrived at West Cost Autos on Holt Blvd in Montclair around 11am. I asked for Rami as he was the one that emailed me back confirming the car was available and the price. Step 3 He showed me the car. It was nice. Could have been cleaner inside. It wasn't vacuumed very well. I could still see food crumbs but not a deal breaker. The paint was clean but had some scuffs typical wear and tear for a rental car as it still had the Avis sticker in the window. Also not a deal breaker. The test drive went good. The car was mechanically great. Step 4 We returned from the test drive. This is where ithings went bad. I told him I didn't need to finance that I would be paying cash. He started telling me the price online was the base price and that after a Clearwater application, a fabric protection application, and a GPS tracker installation that the car would be around $29,000. I explained that I didn't want any of those,, just the base car at the advertised price. He stated he couldn't sell the car without them. So I said that's false advertising. He said no it's the price of the car plus added value that they equip for the customer. I explained that if I am not able to buy the car for the listed price because they add more unwanted cost to it then the listing price is a lie. It is clearly false advertising, and I am in the process of filing a report with The Better Business Bureau. Do not waste your time at this dealership. They never applied any Clear coat the paint job was scuffed. They never applied any fabric protection unless they are incompetent and their intention was to protect food crumbs. Why they would install a GPS tracker on a car that has Onstar is a joke. These people are dishonest and crooks.
Horrible place to shop for a car. Rami "helped" me(waisted my time) when I went to look at a kia optima listed at about 21k which was perfectly in my budget range. Upon arriving to the dealership everything was going great but when it came to cruch down numbers I was surprised as I was told I needed to pay for certain accessories(3 accessories 1.5k each), after everything the cars price jumped up 29k so moral of the story be prepared to spend about 4500 dollars more just in mandatory and unwanted accessories such as a GPS tracker, pait protection, and fabric protection. "All unnegotiable" as it was a thing at every dealership as stated by rami. Also FYI rami continued to call me multiple times a day for the next several days until I blocked the number
