I decided to schedule an appointment for a root touch up Saturday since I was returning to Providence on Monday & wasn't sure when the school there would be offering services back to the public again. I was initially quoted 25$ on the phone, but told 45$ in person. She stated she thought I was bringing my own color when I never mentioned it. I told her I would only need the color touch up & that anything else such as blow drying, flat ironing , I'll do myself. Despite the error on her part for misunderstanding what I said, she didn't honor the price given to me over the phone. I ended up paying the 45$. I noticed one customer was greeted & ask questions upon her arrival, but I wasn't. I even had to shampoo my hair again because the color wasn't thoroughly washed out. I initially was excited & comfortable about my decision to visit Majorelle based on the great reviews. There should be an adjustment made to my debit card due to the poor customer service & inconvenience I encountered. Unfortunately, this was not a five star experience for me.

An honest review from a recent graduate from Majorelle; I couldnt be happier with my decision, Fatiha is the best! Within a week of my job search I got positive responses from 10 out of the 12 places I reached out to. I was extremely selective in who I chose to follow up with and interviewed with 3 salons. All three asked me to bring in a model to take the next steps. I got the job I wanted. If youre looking for a place to begin, finish, or advance your cosmetology education, you CANT get any better than Majorelle. I went to Evergreen Beauty College in Bellevue, I finished about 1300\1600 hours and was so discouraged and frustrated with the whole experience that I quit twice. I had to finish paying them the 20k tuition I was suckered into before they would give me my hours. When I finally settled up with them I got to take my remaining hours to Majorelle, where I would ultimately make the most of my education, time, money, and future career. Majorelle puts the emphasis on whats current, whats new, and whats efficient. The best products, the best services and the best instruction for them! Fatiha makes sure youre ready for a salon when you walk in, not just prepping you for state board. (State board isnt rocket science; I studied for 3 days and aced both sections. Dont let the big schools fool you!) Most salons think they have to retrain beauty school grads because of the kind of stylists that Gene Juarez, evergreen, and Gary Manuel are spitting out to the general public at a dime a dozen. You will absolutely have a leg up on the industry learning in this salon setting, focus on practical applicable work, and really getting to make the most of your education. For me, school was about investing in myself. Investing my time, my money and my effort. Part of my frustration with evergreen was the total cost of their tuition, in addition to their scheduling inflexibilities. Its YOUR time, YOUR money, and YOUR education. If youre paying to better yourself, it should fit into your schedule and be flexible and convenient to you. Work or childcare should not prohibit you from succeeding. Evergreen has a very strict attendance policy and an even more unwavering schedule. I was so happy when Fatiha told me she only needed a 3 day commitment and I could let her know what hours were best for me. It made my schedule so much less stressful and made me so much more excited to come to school. I never had to bend over backwards for a sick day or fear the wrath of a severely underpaid educator if I needed to go home or god forbid had a dentist appointment. I came to school Tues-Sat from noon-5. A lot of us were interested in learning eyelash extensions, so rather than pedal us off to another program she reached out to one of her esthetician students whos been doing eyelashes for 10+ years. She coordinated a day for us to all get together and learn from her. Fatiha is very resourceful in her relationships and will help you to learn whatever youre interested in. She gets calls for internships, photo shoots, and jobs and always lets us know they are available. I got an internship a few months before I graduated and continue to work for the salon now that Ive graduated. She also set me up with a barber that was a former student of hers to learn more clipper and fade techniques from. Evergreen will give you about two days total of mens cut instruction. And maybe a PowerPoint a couple months later about fades. We did Balayage, fashion colors, color melts, Brazilian blowouts, keratin treatments, updos...all the things youre ACTUALLY going to need to know. I never did a single roller set or pedicure the whole time I was here. Anything else I can think of; Tuition here is about half of any large school, and you arrange reasonable payment plans with her at the beginning. Instead of having one educator for 20 students, you have one educator for about 4/5 and everybody gets to learn from whats going on You are not forced to buy a thousand dollar kit full of unnecessary items to haul back and forth.
