Attn: Yelp members,Gardena residents, and especially any gardena policeman wanting to buy a car. I am a retired police officer and can usually see a crook when I contact one... BEWARE, these crooks at Gardena Honda are good, real good. I went to the dealership today to buy out my leased Honda. Pretty simple, nothing to negotiate. I was wrong. NOT only did they try to deceive me into buying things I didn't need, They LIED and said I couldn't take delivery on my car. Mind you, this is not my first rodeo when buying a car. I have purchased about five cars at DCH Gardena. But no more. They started out trying to give me 11.5% percent financing. I argued and argued and I was able to get it down to 4.9% after an hour of uncomfortable negotiating. YUCK. I am now in finance. I learn that the sales manager had sold me an alarm system, and something called security etching which is a security system. Steve Choi( finanace manager) told me that I could not take delivery of the car unless I agreed to pay 399$ for the etching and 799$ for the alarm system. He was adament that I could not take my car home unless I agreed. An uncomfortable setting to say the least. He then told me he needed manager approval to get if taken off. A Few minutes later, he returned saying that out of the kindness of the dealership, they would waive it from the contract. Really. Are you kidding me. Choi flat out lied to me. An internet search revealed that it was an option to me if I wanted the security alarm and etching. NOW, the warranty. I agreed on the warranty only to find out that when I was signing the contract, the sales dept. (Steve Choi) sold me a cut rate warranty company out of Florida. It was not even Honda Care. Another trip to see a manager. I just happy to have seen it while I was signing the contract. I am not much of a yelper but I am trying to prevent more people from being robbed at Gardena Honda. It was quite apparent to me that the old gardena honda staff is gone. The new regime is in full gear ready to rob you blind. Buy at own risk. Last note, I just checked my contract, I signed it at 4.99% instead of the 4.9% agreed to. I just didnt notice. :(
well worth the drive for us out to the south bay for our new Honda! the price was very competitive but when we spoke with them on the phone it was the level of professionalism that really surprised us! very happy we made it out to gardena, thank you especially to mark and his manager mike for making a car purchase not a bad thing!
This was absolutely the best car buying experience of my life. They are straight shooters, have the best prices in Los Angeles (maybe Southern California), and don't waste your time with haggling. I worked with Brian Santos who is easy-going and honest. I negotiated a great price very quickly and picked up my car tonight in less than an hour. I don't know if it's the owners, the management, or the right salesmen, but Gardena Honda makes buying a car a pleasure and reflects very well on the Honda brand. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone in Southern California. Definitely the first place I'll visit when I buy my next Honda.
The people were great and somewhat helpful. However as someone with absolutely no credit history. They tried to push a 2001 accord ex for $10,000. After interest I would of paid for practically a new car, (48months with 22.6% interest) Complete scam. They pressured me like crazy to buy it too. Read other reviews here. They don't care for people with no credit, too poor credit. P.S. when i said they, I meant there was a lead manager and sales rep pressuring me.
