JM Lexus on Sample Road had my LS460 in their service department for repairs. I was given a JM Lexus loaner vehicle to drive while my LS460 was in their shop. During the time I was driving the loaner I had apparently went through an intersection in Miami Dade incorrectly and received a camera violation. Since the camera recorded the license plate of the loaner vehicle the violation was sent to JM Lexus. Camera violations are first sent out to be paid as a warning to the driver. A simple payment of around 154.00 will clear up this violation without going on your driving record or receiving any points. Miami Dade gives you 30 days to pay this violation. If not paid before 30 days the violation turns into a Citation, which in turn will then be placed on your driving record and points may be given. JM Lexus received the violation and was required to fill out an affidavit confirming the driver of the vehicle was not JM Lexus but one of their customers. They then provided Miami Dade my name and a copy of the loaner agreement. All of this was happening while I didnt have a clue to anything (camera violation or JM Lexus affidavit) and from what I understand was still within the first 30 days of the violation. When I first found out all that has happened above was when I received a Citation in the mail for the violation that was never paid during the first 30 days. Now this Citation was on my driving record and possibly in the process on receiving points. I then Called Charley Brooks from JM Lexus to ask for an explanation and a copy of the affidavit he had filled out. His response was limited and took almost 2 weeks for Mr. Brooks to send me the affidavit through email. After finally receiving the affidavit I then hired an attorney to try and get this occurrence off my driving record through a hearing with the court. Once the judge heard my case he then removed the citation from my record and placed me on adjudication and a court cost of $277.00 When I ask Charley Brooks why JM Lexus didnt call me when they first received the violation and in the process of filling out an affidavit, he simply said We Didnt Have The Time To Call You our employees needed all their time with their current job. But yet Mr. Brooks had the time to review the violation that was sent through the mail, pull JM Lexus loaner records, fill out an affidavit and have it notarized on behalf of JM Lexus. A simple phone call to me would have made me aware of the camera violation, I would have then contacted Miami Dade before this Violation had turned into a Citation. All if I would have had some knowledge of what was going on. Last year I bought from Lexus power steering fluid . They gave me a big bottle with cleaner , and a bottle of valvoline power steering fluid . Went to a mechanic and manually cleaned the system . He was putting cleaner fluid in the reservor , and with a hose was recovering on the other side . I was spinning the wheel . after cleaning , we put the power steering fluid . drove many miles and was still clean and not viscous . This year I tried to do it by myself . took out some fluid from the reservoir , spin the wheel , added fluid , did it 2 times . . I saw just a small change in the color and viscousity . To do the entire system I had to do that process many times . I decided to go to the dealer to do it properly . went with my car to the dealer to do a power steering fluid flush . Left the car there for few hours . came back . took my car , drove 25 miles till home . Next day I checked the fluid level and was overfilled till the cap . took out some fluid to bring it to the maximum limit . I saw that the color is exactly how it was when I tried to do the fluid swap . went to the dealer told them that they didnt do something right , couse my car have the same fluid color as was before , and was overfilled . the service person put me to talk with Charles Brooks , the service support manager , but couse He didnt have too much idea about this stuff , He brought the production manager - Cory Van Cleef . who instead of trying to satisfy the customer , he focused on fooling me . He said that the mechanics did their job , as He believe they did it . He didnt see anything the mechanics did . As He didnt know why they overfill it . He said that the color is still dark couse my car is old . If I may be stupid to believe that , I cant believe that the new fluid is so viscous like it was before . I dont think the fluid became viscous in just 25 miles of driving on expressway . They mixed the old fluid with the new one . I dont know exactly what they did , but looking at the color and viscousity , I think they just took out what was in the reservoir and added till the cap . And that was $140 . And they think I'm just stupid . At least if they wouldnt overfill , I wouldnt check like many people who just trust lexus .
