I bought my used 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid from University Honda in November of 2016. The car was listed at $10,500, but I went during the Black Friday weekend so I bought the car for at total of $9000. They promised that the car was in good and safe condition and the oil had been changed. They also put new tires on the car. However, I couldn't get a warranty with University Honda because my car wasn't a Honda and it had over 100,000 miles on it. But because the car was a Toyota, I assumed that it would last me a long time. And since they had promised that it was safe and in good condition and so many people had great experiences with University Honda, I decided to trust them and go for it. Less than a month after I bought my car, my maintenance light came on. I went to my local repair shop because I knew going to the Toyota dealership to fix my car would be really expensive. My oil was filthy. They changed it for me and I went about my day. Less than a week after that, one of my front light went out. I got that fixed as well. I thought that my car would be fine for awhile and I just brushed it off my shoulders. Today, four months after I had purchased my car, I took my car in for the other head light that died and needed to be changed. I got a call from them and there was an extensive list of items that needed to be fixed. To list a few: my back brakes were completely warped, my front breaks were worn to 6mm already (4mm is the recommend time to change the breaks), the struts (my suspension system) were in need of repair, and my cabin air system was filthy. The total estimated cost for the repairs is over $1,000. If I had gone to a Toyota dealership, the cost would be even higher. So before purchasing a used car from University Honda, I recommend bringing a mechanic to look it over because I don't trust theirs.

They cannot diagnose your car. I brought in my car and asked for air conditioning diagnosis. More than $300 later they provide an inspection and report, we get over $100 of work done. Why is this different from a diagnosis you ask? Four months and less than 3,000 miles later, and in winter, the AC doesn't work. They do a courtesy inspection and report, hand me an estimate for another $1100 of work. Warrant on the diagnosis? No. They are a shade tree mechanic shop masquerading as a dealer shop.
After being totally frustrated with resetting my radio code on my 2003 Honds Accord because of my dead battery and Roseville Honda not being able to help me without coming in, Matt (from the service department) walked me through the entire process!!!! I am so happy. because nowadays, nobody cares about taking the time to provide even minimal customer service. Matt was amazing in his professionalism, patience, courtesy, and kindness. Needless to say, I'm all set should this happen again! I really appreciate the fact that he actually saved me time and money. I highly recommend Shottenkirk Honda of Davis, especially the service department!!!!
Nightmare of an experience at this place. I came in (already preapproved with my bank) hoping to buy a car after the internet sales manager SiGi and I had agreed on a price for a used vehicle. After coming in and doing all the paperwork and running my credit, they tried to run up the price of the sale by making me buy their warranty (2k). They stated that it was mandatory and that the previously agreed upon sale price of the vehicle could not be honored. SiGi, who had told me that he had spoken to his higher ups and they agreed on the price, never actually did and completely lied to me. His supervisor stated that he never actually spoke to him about the price, even though SiGi stated that he did. I did not purchase the vehicle. Very dishonest salesman with typical used car salesman tactics. Very pushy and desperate for the sale. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Shady all around. Stay away.
