I am very sorry for your experience today. We have only had one register open during Covid so that we can control the traffic flow and not have customers walking behind another customer checking out. Our register got backed up today when a credit card machine got coffee spilled on it and shut it down. We did open the other register to get things going. I am personally the owner and came out to help and realized the two cashiers did not have on face masks. I told them they had to wear them especially when they did not have the plexiglass between them protecting them and the customers. When we are in the office away from anyone we dont require the face masks to be over their face. However whenever they are helping customers, they are supposed to be wearing them. In the beginning we tried to social distance but at this time it has not been possible and they have been required to wear masks. We have been busier today than any other day including Black Friday so it was pretty overwhelming. This is the reason we cancelled our sale this year due to the pandemic.

I have been shopping at the big tool store for years and have always considered it one of the best things about Wichita. However today my experience was different. I have been into the store on a couple of occasions during the Covid pandemic and have seen a mixed bag as it relates to the employees wearing face coverings. However today was over-the-top. None of the employees, including the two female cashiers, the two elderly gentleman that work on the floor, or any of the management staff in the offices had any face coverings on. I did notice that one of the men on the floor did have one around his neck but it was not pulled up on his face. The cashiers as well as the floor staff were coming right up to customers, me included, and talking to us covert close with no face coverings. To make matters worse, there was a line of customers waiting to check out that was probably 12 to 15 people long and the line stretched around to the back of the store by the offices. They only had one cash register open, and If you have been to this store you are aware of how difficult it is to distance from one another because of the amount of inventory, so the situation with only one register open made it that much worse. I overheard one of the female cashiers say, I wish we would open another register. I always prefer to support local businesses, but it is way too easy to purchase online and with the general disregard this business showed for their customers general safety its unlikely Ill go there anymore.

Unfortunately, in the State of Kansas, only the person whose name is on the registration can do anything with it at the tag office unless they have a vehicle power of attorney. That is the same policy we use. We are also very clear on the phone that we require registration to rent the space, and it must match the name of the person who is there with his or her drivers license to rent it. Sorry for your inconvenience.

The Big Tool Store has to be the one place with the most rude staff BAR NONE in Derby. I attempted to utilize their service for RV storage until their "Know it all staff" says that since my wife's name was on the registration I was not technically the owner. BS. If we are married, file taxes together etc then by God we share absolutely everything including property. I would not recommend them to anyone. It's worth the drive to go somewhere else. In my opinion.
