Hello Kendra, I am so sorry about your experience! I should do a better job than just say how do you feel about bifocals. I would love the opportunity to explain to you why patients would need bifocals and how it can benefit you. We don't own the optical in our office therefore there is no benefit to us to pressure patients into buying lenses you don't need, that's one benefit of doing the exams only! Eyemart Express will give you 90 days to make changes to you lenses if you feel the bifocals are not helping, I have spoke to the General Manager about your situation and she has agreed to help. I would have a difficult time recommending Dr. Do/Waco Vision Center simply for the fact that I don't believe I was provided complete information at the time of my vision appointment. I was prescribed bifocals after a simple question: "How do you feel about bifocals?" I had no point of reference as I have never worn bifocals, but if the medical professional felt I needed them after examining me, I thought it was best to trust what he was saying. I just got my new glasses last Friday and immediately after putting them on noticed no discernable difference/improvement in my ability to read than I had with my SIX YEAR OLD single vision glasses. I know they say it takes time to adjust, figure out where to look, "find your sweet spot", etc. but after wearing them for the entire weekend, I can say I don't believe the benefit of having bifocals warranted the extra money I spent. My understanding is a simple test of allowing me to read something with the bifocal lens and without at the time of my vision test would have allowed me to make a more informed choice. I do not recall this happening because if it had I definitely would have answered the 'How do you feel about bifocals?" question differently. The strength of bifocals prescribed to me does not provide any magnification, but it's supposed to make things 'pop' more when I'm reading. I can honestly say I read just as well out of my old pair of single vision glasses as I do with these new EXPENSIVE bifocals. My issue is not with the courtesy/friendliness of the doctor or his staff, it's with what I feel is the failure to provide me a complete picture to make an informed decision. So for that reason, I would not be able to recommend this doctor/practice.

Doctor Martinez was great. The young Hispanic girl they have sitting at the front desk is extremely rude. She talks to people so aggressively and lacks empathy. I was unsure of what my vision insurance was and she was very rude while telling me she couldnt find it and my eye exam would be $65. She talked to every patient that walked in the door with the same aggressive tone.

Staff was very friendly, I didn't have to wait long to get seen, they did my exam quick and then I went next door to eye mart and got 2 pairs of glasses made in under an hour.

The Optometrist I saw was very pleasant. He informed me of everything I needed to know concerning my vision.I would definitely recommend this place for your vision needs.
Hi Dana, I am sorry for the inconvenience you experienced today. I respect your disability and willing to accommodate you by staying late or coming in early to see you. Youll be the only patient in the office so you dont have to wear a mask. I myself hate wearing a mask, it makes me so hot! However, I do it so that other high risk patients feel safe. Contact the office if you want me to see you after hours so you dont have to wear a mask.

I was refused service. I am disabled and prohibited from wearing a mask. I have my doctors letter of confirmation that I cannot wear a mask for any period of time. There are safe ways to accommodate persons such as myself. I have filed a complaint with Disability Rights of Texas. FYI. Dr Putney gives persons their choice about wearing a mask and will be doing my long overdue eye exam.
