Don't not use this company! Beyond POOR customer service where everyone is laughing in the background. They asked for my SSN just to activate my card, I wouldn't give it so they hung up on me. Then I called back to find out that the card is "expired" even though clearly on the card it says 6/20 on the date, then when i ask for the money off the card this next lady hangs up on me. I call back a third time get someone who sounded like the first lady spelled my LAST name wrong so many times ( think it was intentional so when they do send me my check its wrong and I have to call back again) I was not nice this third time i called, I seen i had created an account online before then i see the balance they are taking out $5.95 even when I NEVER activated the card. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!
This is the worse company ever! My father in law gave us a $75 gift with this company last Christmas. We forgot about it and called them just now to "activate" our gift. After spending time with them on the phone and giving them all our personal info, they told us that we had only $15 dollars because if all their fees. Run away from this dishonest company!
I have made one mistake with them and they were unforgiving to the tune of hundreds of dollars I wasn't supposed to use my card for gift itemsI did it once then I guess the card was pre-programmed after that that's pretty much the only time I ever had an issue with NetSpend otherwise all the problems and complications people had been talking about are relatively the same and on the lighter side of things if they are having a problem getting their own money imagine what the thief will have to go through I've never had anyone rob me LOL
I've been dealing with Netspend for about 5 years now, never had a problem. I have 2 direct deposits going into Netspend, moneys always there, overdraft protection ALWAYS comes in handy. All of this doesn't mean I won't have issues in the future, nobody's perfect, I'd say I'm the exception.
