We apologize that you felt this way after visiting the cafe, as that is never how we would want any of our customers to feel. We believe this to be a misunderstanding of communication between staff members. Please feel free to come by, or contact the cafe, and ask for our Cafe Manager. He would gladly speak with you regarding this experience, as we really hope to continue serving you in the future.

This is normally one of my favorite gems of St Pete. I go there weekly and have done for 12 years, but I had a bad experience at the deli section yesterday that has made me feel humiliated. It's likely that I will not return for quite some time. Everything is packaged during COVID and I needed a disposable fork. My mind was on elsewhere and it was very busy. I asked a tall guy behind the counter for a fork. We are all wearing masks and I mistook another tall guy who was walking directly towards where I stood for the guy who was grabbing me the disposable fork. He corrected me as the right guy slid by him to hand it to me. I apologized for my faux pas as quickly as I could and walked around the corner. Just as I got out of view I heard the one guy who I mistook say, "Well that was interesting" and everyone giggled. There were loads of staff and customers there. I was embarrassed to be made fun of like that. I'm sure everyone has made a mistake during a moment of distraction and it's inappropriate for the staff to comment about customers like that. I used to work in retail and would never have done that, especially if the customer was in earshot. I don't know who this guy was but he needs a lesson in good customer service basics. All it takes is a snide comment behind a person's back to ruin long-standing loyalty. I would normally let that roll off my back but it has bugged me for several hours. I'm sure I will shop there in a pinch but I will not be going to the deli counter in the future. I realize those jobs are scary and difficult. Everyone is edgy. I'd give some slack but his attitude was so snotty! He didn't recognize me, a frequent customer, anymore than I recognized him so who does he think he is belittling me?

Ive been a regular shopper at Rollin Oats for a really long time and so thankful they are in our community. No matter when I go in the store, staff greet me and offer assistance. I find that their prices are very fair and often better than the big chains and mail order folks that carry same items. Ill often shop around lunchtime because their deli the food is always fresh and tasty with choices for every lifestyle.
