Jim, Im sorry for your troubles. We always recommend removing the spare tire for transport. Its really only intended for storage under the trailer when the trailer is stood up. Its easier access in case of roadside emergency with a flat tire so you dont have to unload the bike. Your trailer is intended for hauling a trike not any two wheel motorcycles so the diamond plate (which I assure you is real aluminum) is only supported where a trike would sit.

So, I left a truthful review, and since then Kendon hasnt responded to my e mail x2 - terrible way to do business! I would NOT RECOMMEND
Stephen, we're very sorry you are disappointed in the 2003 Kendon trailer you purchased. As explained to you via email, 15 years ago the trailers were set up to handle bikes of that current time and most customers did not have issues loading/unloading their bikes, whether they were 200 lbs. or 800+ lbs. Over the last 27 years, as most products, Kendon trailers have evolved and there have been numerous changes to wheel chocks, rails, loading ramps, and other components to accommodate various styles of motorcycles, current and past. We offered you an upgrade to our latest low profile wheel chock via email, but you never responded to us.

If I could give them less than one star I would! I bought a Kendon standup signal rail trailer because I was told they were very good. So I put my 2016 Harley Limited low on it and I could not get it out of the wheel chock with out a push from somebody. The trailer is labeled a "big bike transport". When I contacted Kendon they told me the trailer was made in 2003 they said that bikes back then did not weigh 800+lbs. I had a 2001 ultra classic that weighed well over 800lbs. Obviously the people at Kendon and their engineers have no clue what they are doing.
Ron: We're really sorry for the shipping damages on your trailer. Normally with shipping damages like this we recommend refusing the trailer for a full replacement as stated on the warning notices on the trailer packaging. I do see in the message history you opted to keep the trailer for a discount. Regarding the wheel clearance, 1/4" is what we normally have as the specification between the wheel and fender bracket. If there is anything else we can do please connect with Xavier or myself. Regarding phones and emails, we answer each call live between 8am and 4pm Monday through Friday and emails within 48-72 hours. As with many other companies, Covid and its iterations have had an effect on our staff, so at times it could take a little longer to get a response but we make sure we respond to all inquiries. Our automated phone system is only on after hours but customers can still leave messages for our staff members. I bought a two up Kendon Trailer and it was delivered just before Christmas. Looking back, the good reviews I read seems to be older models. The trailer had tape and protective material all over it. I noticed a few scratches when bringing off the truck but did not think it would be that big of a deal. After I removed all of the tape and packing materials in my garage it had several issues. Fenders bent, many scrapes, missing T bolts, dings. Kendon sent me replacement fenders and some paint. They also promised to give me $200 back and said the trailer will operate fine since I was concerned about using it. I was told there are not alignment adjustments that could be done. It took several emails (leaving messages for them does not get a response) and starting the process to have my credit card company do a chargeback before I was given the credit. I don't blame staff. Xavier seemed to be as helpful as he could be from what I could see. I also have called trying to get technical information about tire clearance from the fender frame. It only has 3/16 to 1/4 inch and I just want to make sure it is safe to operate. I always am sent to voicemail and who knows if I will get a call back since they never did on other items. The product still looks solid and I hope it works as promoted so I don't need to continue to deal with this company. I would not buy any product from them again and wish I had sent it back. Within moments of posting a bad review on Yelp they responded. Their customer service is a main reason why they get a 1 star. Food for thought. If someone at Kendon would start answering the phone for customer issues it may help prevent bad reviews. Once I ordered they have been consistent about not responding.
