Very disappointing food and overall experience. I really hope they are reading these reviews as I cannot fathom who in their right mind would award this restaurant 3 Michelin stars. From foul tasting consommé (which set the scene for rest of the dishes) to pushy waiter who was briefed to sell supplement charge dishes regardless whether or not you like them. I left half of my food on plate, tiny portions as they were. Come on I know restaurants have suffered during Covid, but haven’t we all? Summer tasting menu was dominated by turnip, it’s lovely if you are four legged. Will not recommend this place, will never come back. I love hotel and Jean George where I should have dined in hindsight.

Overpriced!! Overrated!! We paid £1000 for 4 people which wouldn't have been a problem if we enjoyed the food. We were made to choose from a set menu of 5 or 7 courses,The Autumn Menu (instead we would have preferred to choose the starter, main and dessert from a wider menu selection ) Two out of 5 courses were fish and one meat (who would want to have fish and meat in the same time,you either have fish or meat from the start) the wagyu beef was nice but overpowered from aubergine and the dessert just a simple sponge served with armagnac drink on top and whipped cream,nothing special about it,disappointed!! I would give 5 star to the service and staff though

Regarding our drinks service, with a few expections, our cocktails are curated and prepared by the amazing team behind the Coburg Bar. Being a Saturday night, we were experiencing delays hence the reason why we inform you upfront to avoid disappointment, but since your party never had cocktails we hope this didn't affect you. “If you want anything other than a negroni it will take 15-25 min because the bar is full and that is where we get our drinks”. That was our first interaction with the service at Helene Darroze, and it stayed at about that level all night. My mother had indicated an intolerance to seeds (specifically "small hard things, including cucumber and tomato seeds"), but this wasn’t accounted for in any of the dishes. For example, she received an ice cream dish with strawberry compote, which visibly contained strawberry seeds. Another time she received a dish with pomegranate seeds. If they had a question about the scope of the intolerance they should have inquired, but it seemed more like they didn't even consider it. Overall the food was very good but not outstanding, and given a few “off” service issues, it did not live up to expectations or the price.
