For my first visit, I was slightly disappointed. I had called and scheduled an appointment a week before, confirming a date and time. Arrived at said appointment but the reception staff gave me a confused look, saying there was no appointment made for the time I had stated. Instead they scheduled me for a walk-in for the time I was originally appointed. I don't understand where the mix up happened in the original scheduling, but the staff was nice about it and got me settled. The doctor was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Never felt uncomfortable when talking with him. However, my overall eye exam took about 2.5 hours. Appointment at 11:30am, didn't leave until about 2pm. I felt it was a little disorganized since the reception staff wouldn't provide me with my prescription until the doctor had approved it and that i wouldn't be able to get it until my next visit or through email if i needed it sooner. But when i asked the doctor, he printed it right away. No questions asked. I am willing to visit again, as the staff and doctor were still very polite. But i just hope my next visit won't be as disappointing as this first one.

Hi Lynne, While I understand your situation, it is unfortunate you are seeing this only from your perspective. Something I do not talk about much, but care deeply about is we are one of the few clinics who provide Disability eye exams to our military members. Our military members serve so we can live the lives we want back home. We are open 9-5 on weekdays, and open 1 Saturday a month. It is not fair to ask us to open later hours. We do have the Saturday hours for patients who are unable to come during the weekday hours. A lot of thought needs to be put into office hours as not only myself, but also my staff have kids and other responsibilities outside of work hours. Due to COVID, opening longer is not as simple as it sounds. We wipe down all patient areas not only between patients, but also at the end of the day. This requires additional time beyond the normal work day. Although I understand life events do come up, I need to schedule staff accordingly based on patients we see during a particular day. And schedules are given in advance of work days. So, cancellations on short notice, do affect the logistics and staff hours. We do not charge a late or no-show fee. As Saturdays are a highly desirable date and we have a waitlist, it is unfair for us to not offer & schedule based on our waitlist.

We were dedicated patients of Dr. Huynh for many years, and my review here previously raved about professionalism. Unfortunately, I have to change my review, as my family has been treated very unprofessionally. This week, we had to cancel our upcoming appointment. Our family is going through tough times. I am a teacher, and I was offered a paid proctoring job on a saturday that I could not refuse. We cancelled with three days notice (as soon as I knew), but were told we were no longer allowed to use their appointment system, as we had "abused" their saturday appointments. We had only cancelled once before-- a few weeks prior, because our family's only car would not start. (We called and apologized profusely that day). They said we would have to "walk in" and wait from now on. 3 Our family, like many others, have suffered from the pandemic. We are down to one income, down to one car, and doing our best to get by. Already, it was a huge burden to try to get down to their limited office hours (which are nearly impossible without taking a day off work, which I cannot do). We've asked SO many times about evening or weekend hours, which they will not do, except for limited appointments on Saturday morning. Now we're "blocked" from making appointments because we had car trouble one day, and another time rescheduled with 3 days notice? I am a public school teacher in a pandemic, and my wife is an Iraq war veteran. I feel beyond disrespected. We won't be going back.
