Hi George, We are very sorry to hear of your recent order issues. I'm honestly quite shocked to hear you consider our customer service as "abysmal" as Cho (the person you are almost certainly referring to) has been praised by more customers than I can count, but none the less, issues do happen, and we are very sorry about your experience. As for your other comments; We had been moved into our new location for over 9 months when you placed your order, we also sent an email out a month before our move to every customer we have, changed the address in google, and our website, and also included a reminder in every email correspondence sent, both before and after the move. We are also located only about 10 - 15 minutes away, maximum, from our old location. For your more recent order, you DID NOT choose local pickup, you chose (and paid for) shipping services, so that is why your package was shipped out. Unfortunately, once an order has been picked up by the post office, we are not able to retrieve that item. If you would have called or emailed in after reviewing your invoice, and asked to change from shipping to pick-up, we would have been able to help, and also refunded your shipping charges. Again, I am sorry for your frustrations, and would be happy to discuss in further detail over the phone, or through email, or in person. -Jake Hawley (Owner)

This is an awkward situation: Picture Salon does an outstanding job on print quality, but absolutely ABYSMAL on customer service. I occasionally order locally because it's convenient, but my last two orders were an ordeal. Over a year ago, I ordered a print I needed urgently, with no time for shipping, so I was glad to have a local company, and ordered from them, and paid extra for express turnaround - it's great that they offer that option. Then their customer service person called me and told me it was ready for pickup... it was Friday (I needed the print urgently for a big weekend event!), and I was told to pic it up before 4:30 PM. I was at their location at 4:10, only to find out when I arrived that they had moved to a new location (after googling it on my phone) I tried to get there, but with a Friday afternoon traffic there was absolutely no way I could make it there on time before they closed... Why wouldn't you email your existing customers a newsletter that you moved? Or, why wouldn't a person calling on the phone to tell you to pick it up an express order not mention a new location? Just today, a few minutes ago, I got a notification that my order has just shipped... EXCEPT I chose local pickup when I ordered... so I called them and - alas, the Post Office has already picked it up... This is not as urgent as the previous case, but annoying nonetheless. We all make mistakes - but the v. annoying thing is that their customer service person (the same both times) really does not know how to deal with such situations. She proceeded to lecture me that next time I should be more careful with my future online orders! Just like the previous time she had told me that "everyone knows we had moved." I told her today that I doubted there would be any future orders: I order from them infrequently, and every time I give it a try, it goes wrong, and there is absolutely no apology, or any attempt to make the situation better... That's too bad because their print quality is very good, and although compared to other places their range of substrates is very limited, still, for paper and canvas printing they are v. good. I'll have to think it over...
