In September 2018, I started experiencing dry eye and thought it was my eyesight getting worse. I went to see Dr. Sandy and she sent me off with some suggestions for OTC medications. With my insurance plan, I had to pay about $30 out of pocket for that visit and they told me I had some kind of 'discount'. I used the OTC meds for 1 month and with no improvements, I went back in October. Oct 2018, I told the staff that I didn't want to pay for an office visit just to get some more suggestions for OTC stuff, so they assured me Dr. S would give me more help. This time, she shared a bunch of expensive procedures I could get done. The last thing she shared was that she could give me an eye-drop prescription which was the most affordable option. I went with that, and for some reason the staff told me I had to pay the $35 office visit according to my insurance plan, along with a $5 fee from the previous visit. It made no sense why I'd get a 'discount' then be charged for it later, but I'm not one to cause problems so I paid it. In Feb 2019 I had a follow up visit regarding the prescribed medications. The front staff told me I wasn't going to get charged for this visit which was a little surprising, but I went with it. I shared with Dr. S that I was considering lasik and how annoyed I've been with having had to wear glasses mostly my entire life. She proceeded to tell me "They will never consider you." I left that visit feeling upset. In June 2019 I went in for a consultation anyway and they said I had perfectly healthy eyes for lasik. I had my surgery 3 days later. It's been almost a year later, and I've enjoyed life like never before with my new eyes. Fast forward to now - I just got a bill from Eye Doc a few days ago saying that I owe $33 for my visit back in Feb 2019. It's marked with a 'Last Notice' sticker, and if I don't pay, my 'debt' will go to collection. Firstly, don't say I have a discount then charge me later for it. Also, don't not charge me for a visit, then bill me later. It's obviously unprofessional and confusing for a client. Secondly, don't ever tell your clients what they can and cannot do unless you have evidence to prove it. Dr. S lost my respect when she said those words. I won't ever go back there nor recommend it to family/friends.
Got my glass scratched and damaged by salt water during vacation. Called and got in right away to get new glasses. Great and helpful staff, even the new trainee who was there with my eye check.
Thank you Phothala! We appreciate your wonderful review!

Best place to go for eye care. I'm not treated like just a customer but like family. We have been coming to Dr Sandy for several years. The other doctors are just as great. Also, many selections of frames for anyone on medical assistance or have other insurances. They always make sure I am well taken cared of.
