Hello Sheldon, firstly may I apologise that you did not enjoy your experience at our reception. I hope you had a good experience once you were actually climbing. I will try my best to answer your points succinctly below. I am extremely worried that you felt our staff where rude to you. We regularly review and work with our staff on the best way to implement our customer service policy. It is a busy time of year for us but that is no excuse. We will bring up this particular piece of feedback with the whole team, and work with them on how best to deal with customers, who present forms that have mistakes on them, in a respectful manner. I must, if you will permit me, defend our staff a little here. Our staff are all over 20 years old (i'm impressed your shoes have lasted so long!) and are all "experienced" climbers in their own disciplines. We also don't use name badges, but maybe that was a rhetorical dig at our experience levels. Finally the documents that are filled out upon entry are legal documents. Unfortunately we regularly have to show these to the lawyers of those wishing to sue us for their own actions. This is the modern world. The only way we can protect ourselves is to have perfectly filled out forms from every customer. Our system is modern in that we do our best to go "paperless". This means that when a form is filled out incorrectly we do not physically have the power to adjust it. Otherwise one of the no-win-no-fee lawyers would be able to claim we changed it ourselves. None of the above excuses our staff talking to like a POW camp guard (what an abhorrent image). Rest assure that we will investigate and provide training, and further action if required, to the member of staff responsible and the whole team. We rely completely on our reputation and work hard to promote and maintain our friendly feel and professional customer service. You will see that the vast majority of our feedback reflects our usually positive ,friendly and professional manner. Staff are abysmal. By that I mean rude or at very best, socially inept. Experience is as follows, a member staff (I have pairs of climbing shoes older than they are) was persistently rude, draconian in their approach to forms... in that you tick the one wrong box in error and you are asked to complete a mass of forms again rather than amend utterly ridiculous and then spoken to in a manner I would expect from a POW camp guard (no please, thank you etc) all wilst expected to pay for the privilege. Clearly inexperienced, staff both in terms of climbing experience...(they really are novices with paper instructor badges with their names written mostly correctly in crayon) and customer service (they have no idea how to interact in a non abrasive way with other human beings).

Very well set routes and great friction on the walls promotes realistic climbing. However a couple of the staff can be very draconian and have very "fixed" views on belaying. It is clear from what they enforce that they have limited experience and just rattle off their fixed view without taking into account more advanced matters.

Hello and very sorry you did not feel you had value for money on this visit. We have 5 bouldering areas at Redpoint in total with around 80 boulders set at any one time. But I take your point that if you are climbing in the V1-2 range maybe there is not a huge amount to go at compared to a dedicated bouldering wall. We often find that people who make this complaint did not find all 5 walls as they are spread out around the centre. Our pricing is designed to give a discount to regular climbers. For instance those using punch cards pay significantly less per session, and it is true that hiring shoes on top of your entry does push the price up. But I can see that £20 can feel like a lot if you cannot make use of the ropes as well. I'm going to go out on a limb and make a suggestion to you that you book a taster session with us. Now I know you are angry with us but hear me out : ) A Taster is £15 and you will get an hour with an instructor doing mostly rope climbing with all equipment included PLUS you can stay after and boulder at no extra cost AND we set you up with FREE KIT HIRE for a month afterwards. This free kit hire extends over to Flashpoint Bristol which is a dedicated bouldering wall also in Bristol. I will bring the price for those just bouldering up at our next managers meeting. We want everyone to feel that they got value for their hard earned cash and for them to be keen to become part of our community. Pretty overpriced and minimal bouldering. I had been here before a couple years ago when I was first ever introduced. Was in the area to see friends so though I’d come again, cost me around £20 with shoes but there’s barely any bouldering walls, 80% is rope climbing, 2 walls are fairly difficult, one area was full of children for a class and the other two didn’t have many option for those who usually do V0’s - V2’s. This is the most expensive place I’ve ever been to with the least amount of options. Just feels like a massive rip off and your paying for the rope climbers
