Dear Ryan, I apologize for the lack of prompt care you received when you arrived in our office and lack of communication Sometimes I can get behind in my schedule due to emergencies or a patient who requires extra care in their exam due to many questions being asked or helping in the proper eye wear selection. Then there is documenting every detail of the results into their charts as to not forget what was told, and what action(s) needing to be done. I am sorry for the wait, but I would treat you the same way. Please tell our staff in the future, as we do have a sign, that says if there is a wait time longer than 20 minutes, go to the front desk. I do remember telling the staff to tell you about the medical fees for your tests, and they can be rescheduled anytime. We can discuss these tests again privately, and why a baseline is always good to have for your future care. I would suggest that you could spread your entire family appointments apart, since it is always a concern to our office when a family comes in at the same time, and everyone needs some kind of eye wear, and then they get surprised with a large bill at one time. You did sign a form which you completed which states, professional fees are due at time of service, in bold print. We can refer you for the special tests to another provider if you wish, and have them send me a summary of the results. Again, I am sorry about the miscommunication and service, and hope again to earn your business. We will call you about this situation very soon. We hope you would reconsider your rating which is difficult to remove, once it has been posted. Respectfully, Dr. Park

The first time I visited this office it was to get checkups done for my whole family. Everyone seemed very nice and welcoming. Doctor Bill was my doctor; he had excellent mannerisms during my exam and took the time to explain quite a bit about eye health to me as he followed through my checkup. At a certain point there was concern for my eyes and I was requested to have a follow-up visit with a specialized test to be done. Immediately I addressed Doctor Bill of my concern over the cost of this specialized test, to which he responded by saying that they bill the medical coverage for it and it'll be covered (which did end up being truthful! It would be a $25 copay for me to have this test done). After the reassurance, I scheduled the appointment a month out. Before leaving I spent over $600 on eye care for my family during this first visit, which was more than I expected to spend but I swallowed it due to the importance of us needing to get it all done. Today was the follow-up appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early for this appointment with my family and waited. Eventually I had to get up and ask why the doctor had not seen me yet due to it being 30 minutes past my appointment time. I could see into Doctor Bill's exam room where he was sitting and doing paperwork instead of being on time for his patient. Soon after, I was approached by office staff with a form to sign showing that my visit today was going to be $300+. After asking about the price, I was told that the office charges me for the specialized test then bills my insurance and my insurance should reimburse me. I felt like this was a very shady tactic to previously tell me not to worry about the cost of something and then try to charge me anyways. And it's not the charge that I have issue with; it's the fact that I was put at ease about the situation for the entire month waiting for the appointment and then was blindsided with a charge that was 10x what I was expecting to pay. I told them to cancel the appointment and we left the office. Perhaps Doctor Bill was having a bad day and decided that my appointment was not important to him. Everyone deserves one of those; that is why I am providing a 2 star review (instead of 1 star), because my first visit here was A+ while my second visit here was F. Averaging those together makes it worth 2.5 stars, hence 2 stars on Google. If the office were to reach out to me to fix these issues then I would be open to providing further review of my third visit. Until then, my family will be finding a new eye doctor.
