I feel compelled to alter my five star prior review to a one star for the way I was treated after my tenth or twelfth purchase from Kam. This is the second home weve remodeled using their appliances, purchased products well in advance of remodeling and were told they would hold the item(s) until we were ready. After months of remodeling delays we were asked to do Kam a favor and accept delivery because their warehouse was too full. We agreed and had the item placed in the garage. Due to code changes we are unable to vent the gas dryer properly and asked to exchange the gas dryer for the same model but the electric version. We were told it was not a problem, just like the gas model, it was in stock and could be exchanged immediately but there would be a $600+ restocking charge! Mind you, the item is still in the box, exactly where the delivery men placed it. The last correspondence I received (from Jenny) asking about my experience said someone would be in touch shortly. Days later, Im still waiting
Hi Ernest, Thank you for sharing the difficulties you experienced with us. While we did experience some hurdles last year with a service technician on Nantucket we have completely turned that around and have great representation, however, it is still an island and there will always be normal obstacles with ferry's and planes. The whole island experiences that. Due to supply chain issues there have been back orders in parts and appliances for a while now. We do our best to get everything in a timely manner but we can not help supply chain issues. That said I am not fully understanding the full scope of what went wrong and it seems there are some unresolved issues. People working here are nice and pleasant. However they fail at service. I bought a full kitchen of appliances last year. After waiting 5 months they came, however fridge door badly dented, top and bottom. I have called, nicely, 9 times over the past year. I am told that a company that they outsource service will contact me. They never do. After all this time with zero results in terms of even setting a date for fixing, I feel compelled to share this experience with the wider community especially in MV and ACK; if they cannot be held accountable for servicing the products they sell, then they should not sell them. There is a response to the above review. Not sure how to respond to it directly but here is the point: it is a fact that there is no closure on any of the calls placed above. Consistently "we will call you back" or "someone will contact you", yet it has not happened. The situation on the Island is not resolved, otherwise I wouldnt have a dented fridge, right? I understand CYA, but hopefully KAM considers this feedback in improving service. A simple call back and closing loops is better than clearly irritated customers.
I cannot say enough about the great service and support we have received from Kam. We had a leaky gas range (Thermador) that Kam went way above and beyond to repair and ultimately replace. They have a beautiful new showroom and a great approach to business to match. Thank you, Kam!
