I walked out of my class when I realized that MODO was not requiring mask wearing and not checking vaccine cards (despite both of those being Seattle requirements). Theyre being irresponsible and putting many people in danger by this recklessness. I wont be returning during the pandemic.
Ive enjoyed this studio in the past and it seems quite welcoming for members, but will not be returning. With my irregular hospital schedule I have a hard time finding classes I can attend and the parking (and current construction) in the area are challenging. Because of these factors (and their door being difficult to find) I was one minute late and the woman inside locked the door and waved me away. Waste of a chunk of money for these overpriced classes. Ive been to studios where Ive been more warmly welcomed and dont lock the doors for 5 minutes since inevitably things happen to people at times causing tardiness. I enjoyed the heated yoga here but Im confident Ill find better elsewhere.
I've nothing but good things to say about this place. The heat makes it easier to stretch, the facility is clean and makes one feel welcome and there are a variety of classes to suit your needs. I particularly enjoy Jen's classes. As a complete couch potato who desperately needed to exercise to survive Seattle's brutal winter, I can't recommend this place highly enough. I do think their choice of exercises concentrate more on leg strength and flexibility. I do wish there were more exercises for core and upper body strength.
They decided to stop following the mask mandate on October 25th. They call it "mask to mat" - masks are required in the front lobby, which is visible to the street, and then you can take them off inside the room. This info is only posted inside the studio and is deliberately not on the website or alongside the other notices at the front door. There's mindfulness for you - we're in a surge, don't risk your health here.
