Being new to learning the concept of "unschooling," we couldn't be happier with our experience. Conventional schooling wasn't working, so we gave this a try. My family and I are happy to have found a (much) better educational option for our daughter. She is more confident, outspoken, and hands-on in her learning as she explores her talents and interests at Datschool. Our family has been talking about alternatives to traditional schooling before our kids were school aged and having tried traditional schooling for 3 years I am confirmed that this is the best option for growing and curious minds.

My wife first learned about Dat School, which is an agile learning center, after our daughter began saying that she hated going to school: in kindergarten. Since then, I have become a huge fan of free play, student led learning and an all around "unschooling" approach to education; which is a term used to describe the act of abandoning meritocratic comparisons of people. If Your child thrives on downward spiraling repetition, memorization of colonial era policies and relentless testing, this model will not satisfy them. But if they enjoy exploring the endless possibilities of life through natural curiosity, then they too may find that Dat, is where it's at!
