Nice glasses and a customised service, but not your best bet if you are concerned about Covid or are an extremely vulnerable person. The premises are very small and there is no airing. There was, of course, a customer with his mask below his nose, which wasn't a problem for anyone. I asked if I could slightly open the door and was told I could not, because the AC was on and the temperature outside was way too hot. Thus shielding against 21 degrees celsius (which is the temperature today) seemed more important to them than shielding against Covid. I sensed my request had irritated the staff, although they managed to remain polite. I do understand that since most people are asymptomatic or get mild Covid, they do not give a damn about the disease. In that sense this place had nothing particular compared to others. Even in hospitals the staff is negligent and exposes patients constantly.

Unfriendly, condescending, pretentious, rude. We were served (if you can call it service) by a young woman with bleached eyebrows - possibly the store manager? Hardly acknowledged our presence when we came in, gave us no assistance. When we asked about prices, it felt like we were just an annoying interruption to her conversation with her colleague. Literally talked down to us like we were morons, repeating twice all the frames are the same price. We understood the first time, thanks. Went to 5 different sunglasses shops in Soho this morning, and Cubitts were the only unfriendly one. Bought pairs of shades in Finlay and Gentle Monster instead! Super service there...
Very clued up staff with good product knowledge, excellent customer service and even though they didn't have an official/qualified opticians on site, these guys were able to help with all my questions and were very keen on adding value wherever they could. Very prompt with email enquiries too and the second time I went in they threw in a pair of clip on shades because they didn't have the colour I initially wanted. Exactly what you expect of a growing start up looking to retain customers and future business. Highly recommended to all friends.

The service is very good. But I felt offended being charged 5 pounds for a cloth for cleaning the glasses. They usually provide them free on other stores.
