Compared to equinox the equipment is of less quality, it’s more expensive ($285/month), smaller and overall no real breathing room. I got asked 2-3x times by different folks if they could jump in , they had maybe 4 benches for free weights which is nothing. What I liked were the employees, they seemed passionate and overall very happy with their jobs. Great staff hands down. They also have a cold plunge and infrared sauna. The rest auch as ceramic floors in wet areas are simply stupid with all the water and humidity there is a high chance of slipping.
I joined the original Miami Beach location in 2017 and used to absolutely love this gym. It felt like a community, the trainers were engaging, the front desk was friendly, the equipment and location was top notch, and despite being a smaller boutique gym there was usually a squat rack open and ample of room to work out in. The extended hours were also a big plus as I was able to get in a workout even after being stuck at the office later than expected. Ever since I moved over to their Midtown location, the vibe completely changed. I don’t know if this came with the owner’s goal of scaling or if Midtown specifically just has a different culture. All I know is I’m not interested in spending $120+ a month to have to chase down referral credits, repeatedly loop back just to get a simple change made to my account, and deal with the ongoing superiority complex from the front desk staff and some of the trainers when checking in and working out. It’s clearly no longer a comfortable or welcoming environment unless you’re deemed “worthy” - despite what the mantras across their walls and apparel might say. It’s a shame, really. Truly used to think this was one of the best - if not the best - gym in Miami and hate to part ways, but it's just not what it used to be.
