Hello Mr. Cioffi and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about Nicolock Paving Stones. Our pavers can be plowed and shoveled just like asphalt, concrete and other pavement materials. In fact, snow and ice will normally melt faster because of the joints around the pavers. In our product catalogs as well as on our website, we state that a plow blade with a rubber edge is recommended. We also mention not use sharp objects to chop ice as they can damage the pavers. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.
I had my walkway done about 4 years ago. The color seems to be ok. However, do not use these pavers anywhere snow removal is required. They scratch very easily from the skids on a snow blower or any snow removal devices. The scratches do not come out easily or at all. This product is OK if it is used in a non snow removal location. Be advised. UPDATED: based on the manufacturers reply they claim any rubber edge blade can be used. This may be true, but we are talking about the snow skids on a snow blower. I don't know too many snow blowers that have rubber skids. SO MY ADVICE REMAINS - DO NOT USE IT WHERE A SNOW BLOWER WILL BE USED. THE SKIDS WILL SCRATCH THE STONES.
Hello Ms. Cush. All of our products are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facilities and exceed industry standards. Once they meet our final inspection, they are shipped to our dealers where contactors and homeowners can purchase them. If there was a pallet with all broken blocks, it would not have left our premises. We have several check points where product is constantly scanned. Did you contact our Customer Service department seeking our assistance? Do you know if your contractor spoke with our Territory Manager? The Alta Wall system is an excellent product and when installed correctly serves many practical and aesthetic functions. Please call (631) 669-0700 and we'll gladly get this resolved for you. Thank you, Nicolock Customer Service.
Subpar quality. Every block was inconsistent and flawed. Nearly one pallet was completely broken. Called the supplier and they referred me to the Nicolock for replacements because they claimed it was guaranteed. One month later we are still waiting for it. The contractor had so much trouble installing the Alta system. Completely disappointed we wish had waited for the Cambridge retaining blocks we needed to come in but chose the Nicolock because it was in stock and not back ordered like Cambridge due to Covid..
Hello Mr. Hall. We understand you're disappointed and want to offer our assistance. However, we need to learn some additional information before doing so. Did you contact our Customer Service department to let them know about the broken pieces? There are several reasons why this may have occurred and it's important to understand more about the installation process, the products chosen, etc. Did you express your disappointment with the contractor? Only Nicolock has local Territory Managers that can trouble shoot problems and collaborate with contractors and dealers. Please call (631) 669-0700 so we can schedule a site inspection then determine the next steps. We are committed to your satisfaction and eager to earn your trust. Thank you, Nicolock Customer Service.
I planed to pave the front yard in mid 2012. My architect suggested Nicolock instead of another brand. But very disappoint, quite a few pieces were broken without any force in the next spring. This definitely not like what appeared in the commercial.
