George, my apologies on shipping cost but these cans ship from our plant in North Carolina not CT so a much further distance. You are correct when you say that they do not weight a lot but its not the weight that makes them expensive to ship, its the rate classification that the carrier assigns to them that makes them costly to ship. Also and most important, these cans are oversized they need to ship via (Common Carrier Motor Freight Line) We could ship UPS but UPS is even more expensive b/c of their oversized charges. The cost we receive from the carrier is the exact cost we pass onto our customers, in addition we always share the freight rate before we ship anything to our customers making them aware that certain items are categorized as oversized as we did with your order. Kevin was so attentive! He noticed my order and called me to make sure that the bin we were ordering would fit my needs. My problem seems to be squirrels and they are very persistent, causing lots of damage. Kevin recommended a small upgrade to the steel reinforced unit and I'm confident we will be happy. I'm tired of these critters chewing through the can and making a mess! Excellent customer service.

I came home the other night to find my bearicuda bin- filled with garbage missing. I saw no signs of a bear dragging the heavy bin away thru our snow cover yard, so I assumed someone took it. I checked all around a fairly deep in the woods behind my house - no bin. I liked it so much I emailed the story to bearicuda and was prepared to purchase another one and have it shipped ( approx. $400 ). Within 5 minutes I received call from Kevin at bearicuda telling me it probably was a bear and to look much deeper into the woods. I did and THERE IT WAS !!!!! Slightly dirty BUT COMPLETELY INTACT AND FUNCTIONAL !!! Thank you bearicuda !

These bins work! Yes, they're an investment, but we have a bear who is determined and the can has held up to her biting and dragging it. Also, Kevin, the owner of Bearicuda Bins has been incredibly responsive to my questions. He called me twice to make sure I had what I needed. I'd buy again from Kevin and I'm suggesting this solution to my neighbors.

I live in rural pa nd have many bears coming around each year. I bought two stealth bear proof garbage cans several years ago and couldn't be happier! My Bearicuda bins have been tested I guess around 70 times. They are the made super strong and have never been gotten into. I've watch some really big black bears knock them over and and even drag these heavy bins across the lawn, biting them and scratching at them and never once succeed! Great company to deal with and super reliable product. I recommend to every I know.
