Where do I begin. First off, I would like to compliment the overall atmosphere of the store. This is the ONLY positive thing there is to say about Sand Surf Co. The prices? Outrageous. The service? TERRIBLE. The owners are rude and entitled; not something I would expect from such a small company. I would like to believe that this is because they are young however that is no excuse. There are many other surf shops in the Tampa area that I would recommend way before this one. Would not recommend shopping here to anyone.

If an item is ever defective we do reach out to the brand to see if this is happening nationally, and if it is we do issue a store credit, refund or replacement. This was not the case with the item. As our policy states items must be returned within the designated return window unworn, without damage and including original tags. As a small business, we hope you give us another try!

I waited a couple of weeks before deciding to leave this review - mostly because I really wanted to like this store and because I really wanted to find a resolution to the issue I encountered. In early July, I purchased a dress to wear on vacation for my birthday (2.5 weeks away). I picked out a really cute Billabong sun dress that I loved. I wore it to dinner on vacation for a total of about 4 hours, but when I returned to our hotel I noticed that the fabric was pulling apart at one of the seams. I traveled again twice after returning from my birthday trip, but stopped in to the shop as soon as I could upon my return to the area to tell them about the issue and to swap out the dress (unwashed, worn once for 4 hours) for a replacement/non-defective dress. The counter girl who initially helped me was very nice and after my conversation with her it seemed as though she was in agreement for the swap - they even had the dress in stock in my size. She then went to get the owner (?) or manager on duty (?) to aprove the transaction and this girl told me I was outside the 4 week return policy (by two weeks, mind you) and there was nothing they could do. She told me she could sell me a new dress at a discount (she never ended up offering the discount) or I could reach out to Billabond (independently) to excahnge directly with them. This was not the service I expected from a store I had heard such nice things about. I also think it's important to add that this was not my only purchase - I purchased additional items when I had visited initially. At this point it's not even about the money as much as it is about the principle. My expereince left a really bad taste in my mouth. I will not be shopping here again and I would not recommend this store.
Sand Surf Co. Is a very special place to visit in Tampa! The clothing, swimwear, and accessories are elite- cant find anything like this anywhere!! Very friendly staff and environment. Would most definitely recommend!
