Miss St Onge, While we are sympathetic to your frustration, our technicians must be compensated for the work that they do. In your case, my senior technician spent approximately six (6) hours working on your system, which included taking the system apart, thoroughly testing every component for functionality, and then reassembling the system. Our labor rate for in-house work done on the bench is $60.00/hr. Based on the amount of time my technician spent on your system, you would have paid $360.00 + tax just for the labor. That is precisely why we offer the Full Service Repair @ $120.00. It is a flat fee that caps the labor to make repair work more affordable for our customers. In addition to six (6) hours of labor, we determined, as noted on your repair invoice, that your motherboard, processor, video card, and both of your drives would all need to be replaced. Your motherboard and processor are both eight (8) years old, which makes finding replacement parts both difficult and prohibitively expensive. We strive to give our customers recommendations for replacement of systems vs repair of systems based on the cost of each. Our goal is to give our customers as much information as possible so that they can make an informed decision that will be best fit for their needs and their budget. We would gladly repair the system, should you choose to have it repaired, but we cannot in good conscience recommend repairing an eight (8) year old system, as repairs will greatly exceed the value of the system.

If you think they may not be able to fix your PC, do not bring it here. They will still charge you the full price $$$ plus tax, for time on the bench. Management will not speak with you directly. Very disappointed. I should have read the paperwork more throughly.

Mr. Allen, you originally brought your system in for freezing issues October 30th of 2019. We reinstalled your operating system and installed a brand new video card for you, because your old video card had failed and corrupted your operating system. You picked up the system on November 5th and we did not hear anything from you about any issues you may have been having until March 3rd of 2020. That's four months, or roughly 120 days, since our last point of contact with you. If anything had gone wrong with the video card past your point of pickup, we would have welcomed you to call or stop in so we could address the issue. When you brought the system back in to us on the March 3rd, 2020, we were never able to recreate your screen discoloration issue. In addition, you brought the system back in to us missing its side panels and the video card was not seated correctly inside the machine, indicated that you had removed it at least once. We informed you later that day that we were unable to recreate the issue and that it was most likely caused by your monitor or some other peripheral that you had plugged into the system. You waited an additional two days to pick up the system. You contacted us again on the 10th stating that you had the exact same problem, yet never indicated whether or not you had tested your system with a different monitor. We kindly offered to test the system at the counter with you present when you returned to attempt to recreate your issue. You waited roughly two additional months to bring the system back to us and when you did, we tested it at the counter, with you present, using our store monitor and peripherals. Once again, no issue was presented. Once you brought in your HP Omen monitor and we connected it, your system immediately began presenting the issue you originally checked it in for, under warranty. As we have told you several times now, the issue is with your monitor and not with the video card you purchased from us nor with any service we performed on your computer. We would be happy to sell you a replacement monitor but we cannot warranty out a perfectly functional video card, especially after we have already shown you that your monitor is the problem. While we understand your frustration, we do not appreciate having our trustworthiness questioned with a factually inaccurate review.

Hurts me to publicly display my distrust for this shop but they like to play games. Honestly you're 3x better off going to another computer shop. They sold me an overpriced and broken Gpu under the blanket of "store warranty" in case anything goes wrong. Well the card didn't carry out work load for more than a week and suddenly it's all my problem? Honestly youtube can help you more than these guys. They are good for installing windows and lying to you.

Finally a place that understands the importance of customer service. My laptop would not power up and after trying to help me over the phone (yes, they took the time to trouble shoot my problem over the phone) I took my computer in and within short order they resolved the issue, gave me advise and did not charge me for their time...even after I offered to pay them. I wish all businesses took this approach. I highly recommend Bit & Bytes!

They fixed my iPad on Monday while I waited (PURE LUCK) and my phone on Tuesday. They are going to be my first stop for something electronic from now on. They saved me a thousand dollars.

We looked over your system and found that the system was just not worth the cost to repair as a used Dell Inspiron 17-5758 can be purchased for around $350.00. Unfortunately we have not been able to stock used laptops at a reasonable price, however we have new laptops on hand that start out at $499.99 + tax. We apologize if there was any miscommunication. A price break down for your system repair is as follows. A replacement motherboard would be about $265.00 + tax. The DC jack itself which would be around $40.00 + tax. The 1TB notebook hard drive would be $79.99 + tax. The cost to transfer your data to the new hard drive would be $75.00 + tax. And the labor for the repair of the system is $150.00 + tax. So considering that would be $609.99 + tax to repair the system, that is why we recommended replacement over the repair.

I have an old laptop that I have damaged USB ports. I made do with what I had, until the power cord wouldn't stay in place. That is when I decided to take it in. The guy behind the counter was polite, and tried to explain everything they wanted to do, "deep cleaning, diagnostics, etc.". I just wanted the ports changed out. I got a call the next day, they worked quickly on identifying the problem, with the bad news that it would be cheaper to replace the laptop than to repair it, as it also had a hard drive that was on the verge of failing. I told the guy to stop all work, and that I would be in the next day to discuss. I asked for a breakdown of what each "Fix" power port, USB ports, HDD, and what they had on hand for a replacement laptop. I never could get a breakdown, as if that was classified data, and the "replacement" laptops they had on hand were no better than what I was trying to have fixed. The HDD was actually out of the laptop when I walked in. These guys didn't do anything wrong, but I got the feeling that they really didn't want to answer questions. I haven't decided if I'll ever go back or not.
