We do apologize for your wait. After reviewing our internal time log it does look like our optometrist was running behind that day resulting in a longer wait time. Our doctors and staff strive to do our very best with every patient/family encounter. Our team is always looking to improve and learn from our patients and their experiences. Vista Eye Specialists has been voted as one of the Top Eye Care Practices in Northern Virginia for the past four years among several other honors. We would ask google users to look at the numerous reviews from all over the internet found on our website (vistaeyeva.com) to get a better understanding of our office , staff, and who we are. Sincerely, Doctors and Staff at Vista Eye Specialists

I went here for the first time today and ended up leaving over an hour later without ever being seen. I arrived just after 2:10 to start paperwork for an appointment that was scheduled for 2:30. At the time of my appointment I didnt get called back, then 3 oclock went buy and I was still in the waiting area. I ended up leaving around 3:20 without ever being called back for even the eye measurements and prep stuff. I will not be returning to this office. I will find somewhere else that has their stuff together more than this place does.

Unprofessional and poor knowledge about procedures. Had to ask literally 6 different staff members how to order contacts through their company and still ended up getting the wrong information and paying out of pocket. My insurance would have covered everything if they didn't misinform me. They also knowingly scheduled my pregnant wife for an eye exam and were told only after paying the copay that the results wouldn't be accurate and that we'd have to come back again.
Dr. Jani and his staff are marvelous. They are kind, courteous, efficient and the true embodiment of caring healthcare providers. Dr. Jani is a miracle worker who uses his surgical skill to restore sight for those of us suffering with cataracts. It is truly remarkable what he and his staff are able to accomplish effectively for so many people every day. I am very grateful for Vista Eye Specialists.
Dr Jani is thorough, knowledgeable, and honest. He listens well and communicates complex medical information so a layman can understand it. His staff is patient and conscientious. I recommend him highly.
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with our Office Manager in reference to your concerns last month. All of the fees that are related to any non insurance covered services are clearly stated in writing to our patients when they sign up for surgery. Once a patient signs up for surgery we contact their medical insurance to find out if the patient will owe any co pays, co insurance , or deductible payments. There is no way for us to present these amounts until we contact the insurance company and find out from them what the patient owes as every patient's insurance policy varies. Many of our patients do not owe anything additional. For our patients who do owe one of these payments we contact them before their surgery to inform them; if a patients' medical insurance plan is a high deductible plan or large co insurance there may be a larger amount due before surgery. Vista eye does NOT set these amounts, it is the patient's medical insurance plan. As a premier eye surgery practice we perform thousands of surgeries every year using these surgical fee schedules and we are always looking for valuable feedback from our patients on how to better their experience. We are always striving to provide our patients with an experience that is comprehensive and as clear as possible regarding their upcoming surgery and their financial expectations. It is never our intention to withhold any type of information that would ultimately help our patients better understand the financial expectations of such an important and sight changing surgery. We value our patients as well as their feedback. If there are any other questions or concerns pertaining to this matter, please feel free to contact our Office Manager directly. Sincerely, The Doctors and Staff at Vista Eye Specialists

I was all set to go ahead with my much-needed cataract surgery last month, but I'm sorry to report that they are not 100% upfront with their fees and then they try to make you think it's your fault for not understanding your insurance when in reality not all their charges are included in the initial quote. I received my quote, which was expensive but not a surprise, and I was ready to go ahead with everything until I called them a couple days after my initial consultation to see if they'd verified my insurance. Trust me, I didn't expect my insurance to pay a dime, but what I did NOT expect was for them to tell me that because of my deductible, my fees were increased by $800 per eye. Fortunately, I have worked in insurance for many years, so I understood that this was not how insurance works and was able to get to the bottom of what was happening. Insurance might not pay anything, but it certainly shouldn't raise your fee. What I finally was able to figure out (after some heated discussions) is that they leave off a line item on their quote -- the charges for the actual lens removal -- "so we don't scare the patients" (per the office manager). I sympathize with the patients who have already posted a similar story; if I hadn't checked when I did, I would have found out at the last minute like the others. At that point, you are then responsible for cancellation fees at the Surgi-Center (not cheap) and have already started your pre-surgical eye drop regimen. Note to Vista Eye Clinic: please don't speak down to me about not understanding my insurance. That is not what happened here. Fix your fee sheets and be honest with your patients from the beginning.
