So sorry that you had a bad experience in our store. Erin feels very bad about how you felt about her service. And it was another employee that was the person that actually rang up your purchase and did not immediately notice the item that you left behind on the counter. She did try to track you down once she noticed it and sent you an email right away, feeling that you would appreciate having noticed this oversight. And I am sorry that Erin had to ask your child to not ride the toddler trike. It is made for children 1 to 2 years of age and we generally try to keep older children off of it as it is both expensive to replace and a safety issue as it could break when older children ride it. This is something that I have asked employees to monitor and she apparently was the first to enforce it - so you can blame me directly for this. I can assure you that neither of these employees were intentionally trying to give you bad service or suspected you of stealing, in fact they are both known for exemplary service. Erin is not an owner, but has worked here the longest and has regular customers that even request her assistance as she has the most product knowledge and training in play therapy. I hope that if you come back to our store you can look at these employees as young people just trying their best to go out on the floor and talk to customers to help them in every way that they can.

I recently moved here to Bellingham. And was lucky enough to stumble upon this awesome toy store. I need to say, until my Last two visits, all my shopping experiences here have been stellar. Its important for me to say I moved her because every time we have visitors(and we have a lot) this is one of the first places I bring them(all my visitors have young kids) plus, We seriously do not have toy stores like this where we come from. My Last visit before todays- I brought a gf of mine, her daughter and my two kids(one boy and one girl,5&6). Whenever weve come in, in the past, she immediately gets on the wooden tricycle and rides on it and no one has ever given us problems. So this day we had actually come to buy the wooden bike. Erin, came up to my daughter and said this is for babies, you cant be on this, so Im gonna need you to get off, ok Well.... I can tell you we then didnt purchase the bike, from this store. Also, Erin followed me and my friend around hovering. Almost as if we were stealing. I felt very uncomfortable. I would ask my gf something about a toy and Erin immediately responded, she was beyond hovering. It was uncomfortable. We left and I apologized to my friends telling them that the toy garden is normally an extremely pleasant place to shop. I also know, every dog has his day. Erin was and is entitled to bad days. However, my very best friend and her family are here visiting (my bff has been here to visit before and she had been to toy garden. She had a great experience and wanted to go back) we went back because my bff wanted too and its her vacation. Great, its erin again. Well, she again hovers and again responds to me when Im speaking to someone else. And then, unfortunately, I left something I purchased behind. Well, Im my opinion and my friends opinion as well as her husband, agree that Erin had MORE than enough time to stop me and tell me I left a purchase behind. If not stop me in the store then why not outside. We stood out there getting the kids all taken care of. She had plenty of time to tell me I left a purchase. Of course the toy that was left behind was for my son whom Im congratulating on moving up belts in karate. I absolutely feel like Erin treats me as if Im stealing and then I think she might actually have a personal problem with me. And i dont know why???? Look, Ive personally spent a ton of money at this place. And Im constantly bringing in customers from out of town. Im not sure Ill ever come back. At least not while shes there. Its gonna be a shame if shes the owner!!
